Newlife launch a ‘Shirt Amnesty’ with Thomas Pink.

Disabled Children’s Charity Newlife has launched a fabulous new fundraising collaboration, this time with that fabulous  retailer Thomas Pink. The collaboration is taking the form of a ‘Shirt Amnesty’, and Fashion-Mommy, for one, thinks this a fabulous idea.

So what exactly is a ‘shirt Amnesty?’

It’s actually quite simple, and rather ingenious. If you take an old Thomas Pink shirt to a Thomas Pink store for recycling, you receive a same-day £5 reduction on any new shirt you purchase. If you return a shirt by any other brand, you will receive a £2 discount. This means you can clear space in your wardrobe, make a donation to charity, and get a new shirt at a reduced rate. What’s not to love.

The Shirt Amnesty is restricted to stand alone Thomas Pink stores, not in store or airport concessions. But there are plenty of stores all over the country to choose from, from the Birmingham Mailbox store to stores in Manchester, Bristol, Glasgow and Edinburgh. There are also 10 stores in London who are participating, including Jermyn Street and Canary Wharf.

Newlife CEO Sheila Brown said: “Thomas Pink is a valued supporter of the charity and we are delighted the company has chosen Newlife as its partner in this Shirt Amnesty. We are literally asking for the clothes off your back to help us provide a range of practical support services for families of disabled and terminally ill children nationwide”.

The Thomas Pink shirt amnesty will last until 29th February 2012.
