Next Sequin Maxi Skirt
Those lovely people at Next gave me the opportunity to choose an item to review during my birthday month, and there was just one item that I had in mind. The Sequin maxi skirt is quite possibly one of the most beautiful items of clothing I have ever seen.It is also an item that despite being dressy, will give you loads of opportunities for wear. I’d seen it on a great blog called ‘What Lizzy Loves’, another blog I discovered thanks to Avenue 57, and knew it would have to be in my wardrobe as soon as possible. I’m really pleased to say I love it as much ‘in the flesh’ as I did in pictures.
When you think of a slinky sequin skirt, you automatically think of an item of evening wear. And yes, I think with strappy gold sandals and a simple silk camisole, this would be perfect for a black-tie event. But to keep this skirt for special occasions only would be a real waste, for this is perfect for everyday wear. So, taking cues from ladies like Lydia Bright and Beyonce and those other queens of daytime sparkle, I wore this skirt for a bloggers lunch, dressing down the elements of sparkle with daytime basics.
The skirt is in a lovely stretchy jersey material, and has an elasticated waistband, making this a super comfortable, as well as a super pretty option, and perfect if you’re planning a food and drink blowout when you wear it. The length is perfect for me (I’m 5ft 7) I was only wearing flat pumps and the skirt fell just above them, making it a maxi, but not a floor scraper. The colour is described as blush, which is a sort of nude/beige shade, perfect for the end of summer, but this will still be great come winter time too. I teamed this with a basic black t-shirt and beaded necklace, flat Mary Janes and a denim jacket for a casual daytime look.
I’ve been suffering from a horrendous coldsore for the past week, so the skirt gave me a touch of glamour when I was feeling anything but. It really is the perfect skirt.
I’m off to Wales for the bank holiday and plan on wearing it again with black flip flops and a pale pink vest top for a beachy look.
The skirt also comes in great pewter shade that I will definitely be getting next.

The skirt looks lovely on you. Cold sores are a nightmare. The only thing which works for me is Zovirax.

Thank you so much for the mention x
You look fab in it. I agree about not keeping it for special occasions. If I get one I might try it with boots and a chunky knit. I’m 5 ft 9 so hopefully it will be long enough. I love the grey too. Thank you again xxx love Liz xxx
