Paint Colour Trends
Thinking of having a room painted or even multiple rooms throughout your home? Whatever the case, you should find out about the latest paint colour trends to provide you with some food for thought.
In the following guide, we’ll look at a mix of general paint colours and specific paint colours from popular paint brands. Let’s take a look!
- Golden Tones
Golden tones like lime-tinted yellow have also gained popularity along with pure red, pure yellow and pure orange.
Whether standalone or combined (likely with the use of furniture and fixtures rather than painting the walls various colours), these tones can bring a golden, summer vibe to your interior spaces. Beyond that, a golden tone or tones contrasting white or/and black furniture and fixtures can also work well together to bring vibrancy and improved aesthetics to your home.
- Dulux’ Sweet Embrace
This slightly pinkish neutral tone from Dulux is set to be big in 2024 with its warm undertones and soft backdrop that isn’t as in your face as a pure colour like mid-pink or mid-green.
Sweet Embrace can therefore act as a great backdrop colour for many interior spaces as most furniture, fixtures and items in the room will visually contrast this tone without it being quite as bland as a pure neutral background. It’s a great balance.
- Benjamin Moore’s Blue Nova
The brand Benjamin Moore’s Blue Nova is a slightly dark blue (arguably a combination of violet and blue) giving it depth that mid-blue tones lack.
As you might expect, Blue Nova will work very well along with Earthy tones (e.g. brown furniture, green cushions, etc.). Matching Blue Nova with non-blue Earthy tones (and maybe some other blue tones for good measure but not too many) can really produce a look and feel of nature and Earthy vibes.
- 1970s-styled Browns
Seventies-styled retro interiors are in right now and this includes using ‘70s-styled browns as an interior paint colour. This could be standalone brown or brown paired with a neutral as stripes or another option entirely.
Of course, for this approach to really work, it’s important that other aspects of the interior scream ‘1970s’ whether with the furniture or seventies-styled artwork.
- Earthborn’s Hopscotch
Earthborn is an environmentally-friendly paint brand and they’ve decided that their colour of the year is their warm but chalky neutral Hopscotch.
This relaxing neutral features a touch of warmth. Earthborn’s Hopscotch can ultimately work well in a wide range of interior environments.
Hiring a Painter
When it comes to painting a room or painting multiple rooms, you may want to undertake it DIY, however, an alternative is to hire a professional.
If looking for a painter to hire, it’s best to secure quotes from three or more contractors before deciding who to go with. This way, you can compare the level of experience and previous work of several professionals as well as looking at their online reviews and ratings (if available) to make an informed decision.
