Pippa’s holiday style – A guide to mini break packing.
The lovely Pippa Middleton gave us a good lesson in what to pack for a European mini=break last week when she visited the Spanish capital Madrid with a group of friends (including an ex-boyfriend!) Pippa looked fabulous throughout the trip, with an impeccably chosen summer wardrobe of neat dresses and cool seperates. Here are a few tips for channelling Pippa’s style this summer.
1. Choose classic separates for the airport experience. Pippa’s simple vest and cardi combo are comfortable for short air travel, and the cute cardi will combat the sometimes chilly feel when on a plane.
2. Invest in a wear-anywhere dress. This dress is the perfect piece if you want to pack hand luggage only. This looks cute with comfy flats for sight-seeing, but imagine with red spiked heels and hair in a neat bun for evening. A little black cashmere knit could be worn over that dress for cooler moments.
3. Stick to flats for day and night, this means you can avoid money for taxis and walk everywhere. Pippa’s patent flats (she’s a fan of Tory Burch) look great with her camel coloured mini skirt.
4. Remember that it is still only May – and that the weather may be changeable. Always pack a lightweight jacket and an umbrella if you are planning on visiting a European tourist capital in the Spring.
5. Choose your colour pallete – and stick to it. Pippa focused on a capsule wardrobe containing items that were predominantly black, white or nude. This is a clever move as it means the individual pieces can be mixed and matched to create many different outfits and looks.
And when you get home…throw it all in the wash, put on your well matched denim…and hit the shops again!
