Reviewed – Carousel Ride from Clarks

As regular readers to Fashion-Mommy know, I am a real fan of Clarks. This is a classic British brand that is always a byword for great quality shoes. Clarks shoes appeal to me for three main reasons, they offer style but also promise comfort, they do half sizes (a godsend when your feet are bigger than a 5, but not quite a 6 grrrr) and they cater for those who need a wider fit shoe.

Clarks sent me a gorgeous pair of Carousel Ride flat ballerina shoes after I asked them for something that would be comfy and glam for the upcoming school run. The Carousel Ride is firmly in the style of classic Pretty Ballerinas, and come in a soft animal print leather, with just a small heel that helps you to avoid painful soles.

These shoes look and feel truly fabulous. They are super comfortable, with cushionsoft comfort which make the soles really soft underfoot. The shoe is also very flexible, bending and stretching with your foot rather than working against it. The choice of D and E fitting means that people with wider feet, or those who suffer from foot swelling, are catered for. The shoe is also a real style classic, with the animal print a design that celebrities from Kate Moss to Alexa Chung embrace. Teamed with jeans you have a perfect daytime look, but these are versatile enough to look very Audrey Hepburn with a little black dress.

I also think the Carousel Ride are perfect with a maxi skirt or dress, another option in the current warm weather, but they will also last well into the Autumn/Winter with the addition of thick tights.

The Carousel Ride come in a few more colours, I personally think the black would make the perfect back to school shoe for any fashion conscious teenager.
