Selfridges spoils us with ‘Daringly beautiful’ treats.

Last Thursday saw the ‘Daringly beautiful’ event in Selfridges in the Bullring. This was a summer beauty event with a carnival/fiesta feel. Fashion-Mommy went along to savour all the delights on the night.

There was definitely a Mardi Gras style party atmosphere in the beauty hall. Stiltwalkers and fire-eaters mingled with the customers, whilst beautiful Brazilian dancers from ‘Brazilian Fantasy’ shimmered and salsa’d their way through the store, much to the delight of the approving crowds (particularly the male members of the audience!). They even managed to get some of the staff involved with the dancing!

But the night was not just about dancing. There were a myriad of special offers and complimentary treatments available for one night only.  GHD were showing customers how to use their new ‘Glamour Era’ straighteners to create Hollywood style waves, Fake Bake was giving demonstrations of their fantastic fake tan in a can, whilst I had a fabulous Lancome make-over on my eyes that created a fabulous kittenish look.

Umberto Gianni was extremely popular on the night with free hair consultations from their hair experts, whilst there were makeovers from MAC, Benefit, NARS and Bobbi Brown. Many of the fragrances had free gifts and special offers attached to them, the most fun being the ‘Viktor and Rolf Flowerbomb’ perfect Kiss competition, which invited customers to pucker up on a post-it note to see if they had the perfect lips.

This night was the perfect opportunity to discover and try new products. My own discovery on the night was Blink, the perfect brow bar. I chatted to Karen from Blink about the Birmingham brow bar, which was only launched in February this year after several successful years in London Selfridges. The eyebrow specialists offer threading, tinting, lash perms and extensions, as well as selling a wide range of eye products. I  had my own eyebrow consultation and couldn’t resist the brow oil, which instantly seems to tame eyebrows.

With 300 tickets sold for the night, and lots of passing interest from customers who wanted to be involved in such a fun and glamorous event, Selfridges Daringly Beautiful  was an overwhelming success.

Sharing is caring!

Welcome to the world of fashion-mommy, a world of fashion, lifestyle, theatre and fun. Enjoy the ride.
