Style Birmingham Live 2015 – fashion fun in Brum
Last weekend saw all the glamorous people flock to Birmingham for Style Birmingham Live 2015. Held in the Gas Hall of the Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery, shows took place over the Saturday and Sunday and featured a range of outfits put together using the best of the Birmingham’s High Street and Independent names. The show was also a showcase for the newly opened John Lewis, who opened the show, and for the hit television show Peaky Blinders, which is famously set in the city in the 1920s.
Style Birmingham seems to go from strength to strength, this year it was expertly helmed by the partnership of ‘The Two Marks’ aka Mr Heyes and Mr Wright. Mark Wright showed why he is one of TVs hottest properties with his cheeky charm and personality, whilst television stylist Mark Heyes answered audience questions on fashion trends, and highlighted some of the key looks for A/W 2015. There was also hair advice from the Francesco Group
And then of course there was the fashion…
Birmingham independents like Liquor Store and Disorder, were joined by M&S, Episode, River Island and Lipsy to showcase a wide range of styles and trends, suitable for all tastes and age groups. The department stores were represented in ranges from House of Fraser, Debenhams and, of course, John Lewis, which had only opened in Birmingham 2 days before the first show.
A disco tinged finale featuring roller skating on the catwalk closed the show as the models showed off their best Saturday Night fever moves. There was just time for a few photographs before we moved onto the next event, the Harvey Nichols showcase. (Which you can read about here.)
My dress for Style Birmingham Live was from Studio 8, you can read the full review here.
