And so this week it happened. A truly curvy, beautiful woman made the cover of Grazia Magazine. And whilst the photograph of Christina Hendricks at the Emmys that made the cover is beautiful, am I the only person who found the tagline and some of the comments used in the article slightly patronising? ‘Christina fever’ the headline screamed, ‘the week this size 14, 38e body stormed Hollywood’. Has plus size fashion finally broken the size barrier?
The last few weeks have seen a sudden explosion in the fashion world. Suddenly plus size fashion and fashionista’s are everywhere. At the Emmy’s the fabulous Christine Hendricks and Glee‘s Amber Riley shone like beautiful beacons of voluptuous style, totally at home in the company of equally beautiful, but noticeably slimmer stars. In the case of Amber Riley, praise for her lovely white Grecian dress came from no less a doyenne than the notoriously bitchy Joan Rivers on ‘Fashion Police’. The amazing Crystal Renn is EVERYWHERE! Five fashion moments that made me smile this week.
Maybe it’s the sunshine, maybe it’s the coming of September (always one of my favourite months) or maybe it’s just that I have been in a good mood, but I have had some fashion moments this week that have made me smile, so I’ve noted them down for all to see and enjoy.
