A few weeks ago, before all the excitement and the frenetic madness that was Style Birmingham Live, I attended another event that could only be classed as amazing. Hair maestro and all-round legend Nicky Clarke hosted an evening to celebrate the opening of his new salon in Birmingham’s Mailbox, and I was very lucky to receive an invite to the event. The new salon is a classy, glamorous affair, with lots of space to ensure you avoid the sometimes cramped, claustrophobic confines that can be a problem in small, hot salons. Style Birmingham Live – A huge Success
Last weekend saw what was, quite possibly, the greatest Style Birmingham Live ever. This really was an event that had it all. The weekend started with a bang with a champagne reception and hair treats from the Francesco Group. This was followed by an amazing spectacle of fashion from the cream of Birmingham retailers, from House of Fraser and the Bullring, Selfridges and Harvey Nichols, with good old M&S thrown in for good measure. Reviewed Scarlett & Jo Green Crochet Collar Shift Dress
I am a huge fan of Scarlett & Jo. Since the brand launched in Evans stores I think they have produced a consistently gorgeous range of dresses and tunics that offer glamour and elegance. Some of the dresses in the collection have been slightly overlooked in light of the amazing Powerfit dresses (you can view the whole Powerfit range here), but Scarlett &Jo is about so much more than the Powerfit frock.
