Celebrity get the look featuring Kelly Brook, Tamera Foster, Tess Daly and Ripper Street

As to be expected this close to Christmas, this edition of Celebrity Get the look features lots of gorgeous ladies (and a few gentleman too) in a range of gorgeous sparkly and festive ready frocks. The end of year always brings a fleet of awards ceremonies arriving like buses and this gives celebrities from the World of TV and film the opportunity to don their glad rags and enjoy their chance to sparkle on the red carpet. In this post we have Emmerdale’s Gemma Oaten and Corrie’s Brooke Vincent doing just that in Gorgeous Couture.

The Face has been one of the TV hits of the Autumn and two of the model stars of the show, Eleanor Corcoran and Emma Holmes, were photographed looking amazing in Boohoo, with dresses from the Boutique range. Kelly Brook shows why she is probably the best advertisement for her New Look range, looking amazing in a baroque influenced black and gold dress and jacket. And Kingsland Road the teenagers choice from this years X Factor are shown with their brilliant Zatchels – a great idea for a Christmas gift for the man in your life this Christmas.

Hope you enjoy the other celeb spots and how to get them.

X Factor Live Show – Week 2 Fashion

Week 2, and the X Factor is still seriously underwhelming us on the question of musical talent. With the exceptions of Hannah, Sam Bailey and the knockout and eventual winner that has to be Tamera, the show is woefully under-represented when it comes to real talent. Thank goodness then, for the fashion watch, which at least adds another element of interest to the story.

And this week it was most definitely honours even, with Nicole being the undeniable winner of Saturday night, and Sharon taking the plaudits on Sunday’s results show.

Saturday Night

Nicole always looks amazing when she wears bright colours, and Saturday was no exception. Her halter styled dress from Sen Couture was totally elegant with its column skirt, and Nicole’s toned arms were shown to perfection through the cut of the neckline. Her sweeping updo was also perfect for this dress, totally complimenting the graceful look of the dress.

ustv-the-x-factor-1910-1I cannot say I was such a fan of Sharon’s monochrome gown. It was undeniably elegant in design, and yet there was something not quite right about it. The cutout detail seemed all wrong, it was quite a Dynasty 1980s look that really did nothing for Sharon, or her body shape. Blogger and personal stylist Karen Grace, who writes the Frumpy t0 Funky blog suggested that the dress would look far better if the colour ways were reversed, so the black paneling acted similar to an illusion dress, and I think this could be a solution. Otherwise, I’m thinking, this is a dress disaster for Mrs O.

The Sunday evening results show was a triumph, this time for Sharon. Nicole plumped for a black dress from Kristen Aadnevik that utilised one of those sheer skirts that I am just so bored of. Nicole obviously looked stunning, her bouncing curls were so pretty, and the bodice of the dress was beautiful. But the view of Bridget Jones style knickers are just becoming yawnsome, I think she is capable of so much more.

Sharon’s dress was pure Jessica Rabbit glamour, shimmering gold sequins that turned Mrs O from a grandmother into a goddess. I love the fact that she is showing options perfect for women who want to cover their arms, offering an alternative to strapless and sleeveless frocks, and I think this is something that the High Street are picking up on, with Wallis one store offering some amazing full length, long-sleeved gowns.

Autumn television – All about Downton again.

I noticed it the other night when I was drawing the curtains before 9pm. It may still be August but the nights are already beginning to close in. And certain television events that remind us that Autumn is literally peering around the corner are almost upon us. Which is why now is a perfect time to check out the new BT broadband packages that are available, offering optimum opportunities for on-demand and catch-up TV, along with the best in high definition. Because, believe me, you are going to want the very best in viewing experiences for the Autumn programme.

So, what have I got in my viewing schedule for the new season?

Downton is back

Starting the series six months after the death of Matthew, Downton Abbey is back and in a sombre mood, after  carelessly losing two of its main characters in the last series.  But there are new characters to get to know and love, and we are all dying to see how the lovely Lady Edith, as ever impeccably played by Michelle Dockery, will cope after the loss of the love of her life and the birth of her baby.

A new series of the X Factor

Tulisa is gone, and Sharon Osbourne is back. And those two facts alone should be enough to bring back those who deserted the show in droves in previous seasons. Nicole Scherzinger will also be along to provide her mix of drop dead beauty and offbeat comments, and, if the fashion parade may not be as interesting as in previous shows, the combination of Nicole, Sharon and gorgeous Gary Barlow should be enough to add some real bite to this show. (See how I’m not mentioning the embarrassment that is Louis Walsh).

Peaky Blinders – A slice of 1920s Birmingham

I am always excited when I see my beloved Birmingham featured in a television series, and so the excitement levels for Peaky Blinders, which is one of the undoubted stars of the new BBC schedule, are high. Starring Cillian Murphy and Helen McCrory and revolving around a gangster style gang in 1920s Brum, Peaky Blinders promises to bring the serious style of the 1920s to the small screen, offering an interesting juxtaposition with same era Downton Abbey.

What will you be watching this Autumn?
