Wardrobe essentials from Marks and Spencer
As much as we all love high fashion styles and trends, our wardrobes need the essential pieces. These are not fashion in any way, and yet always seem to appear current, vibrant and on trend. The wardrobe essentials are the classics, the items that if you asked any woman what item of clothing they could live without, these would be top of every single list.
So what am I talking about? Marks and Spencer recently made a list of the fail-safe items. The list included a classic trenchcoat in beige, flat loafer shoes, a classic black handbag, cropped jeans and a crisp white shirt. Basically all the pieces that ruled the off screen wardrobe of Hollywood style rebel (and total fashion non-conformist) Katherine Hepburn, and both the on and off screen wardrobes of her namesake, the wonderful Audrey Hepburn. These are things that need to be in your wardrobe, and if you have any doubts, just take a look at pictures of these two icons. Do they look anything less that ultra modern and yet classic? Is there style any less relevant in the 21st century. The answer now is no, and this will still be the answer in another 50 years.

Recently back in the UK for our sons wedding.
Before we departed back home, a stop at M & S. What for? Initially knickers, but also purchased 1 short sleeved cardigan. I long sleeved colourful cardigan. 1 or of patterned Capri trousers and a,white sleeveless Tee. My husband also added a navy zip up cardigan.

I have a white shirt. Cropped jeans, a navy trench, a black Aspinal Audrey Hepburn bag and a pair of black loafers, plus the other accessories.

Good old fail-safe M&S! Those sunglasses are gorgeous too, very Audrey Hepburn. Need to keep my eye out for a good, classic white shirt.. must pay a trip to M&S by the sounds of things. Thanks!

M&S are doing really well in the style stakes. I think you can’t go wrong with a wardrobe full of staples. I love Audrey Hepburn’s style.
