Race season is on it’s way! Yes, Cheltenham and the Grand National will soon be upon us, bringing an array of weird and wonderful style from racegoers and celebrities alike. For fashion watchers, race season is always eagerly awaited, whether you follow elegant royal style, or like to look at the more interesting and colourful looks of the WAGS and wannabees who seem drawn to Aintree.

I’m never sure whether the lure of race season is the chance to have a little flutter and maybe win a few pounds, or the chance to dress up. It is probably a little bit of both, tied in with the chance to people watch too. Whatever your thoughts, if you are planning to attend the races this year, then a voucher towards the cost of your outfit, or towards the cost of your picnic basket, would probably be most gratefully accepted.

  1. No i haven’t been to the races, I would love too though, my fiance and I like a flutter on the horses at the weekend when he isn’t working, I win more than he does xxx

  2. Have you ever been to the races? If so, which one? . . . just the once, to our local racecourse at Chepstow, would love to go again

  3. No, I’ve never been to the races. I don’t know anything about racing or betting and have a lot more interest in the outfits and hats that are worn to the races.

  4. when i was a child my parents used to take us to the races regularly and we went all over the UK! since iv become a parent myself i havent been but i keep saying im going to arrange a visit soon!!

  5. I have been to Sandown a few times when there has been a concert afterwards. I’ve found it enjoyable and no need to worry about dress code

  6. No, always used to watch the horses on the telly though, esp over the jumps. Not so keen on flat racing but used to love it when the Derby was run on a wednesday as I could stay home from school and watch it.

  7. I went the races with my Dad at Windsor, many years ago. About 15 years ago, we went to Towcester races, which is near to our home.

  8. I love right near Warwick Racecourse although i haven’t been for a while, i used to go a lot as a child. My Dad was very fond of the Races he even had his ashes scattered there x

  9. No, never been to a horse race. Would love to one day though, the buzz and excitement of the day looks rather unique and unforgettable 🙂

  10. I’ve been to Cheltenham and Ascot but I wouldn’t go now as there are so many horses injured or killed

  11. I’ve never been to the races and do not plan to. I do not like the fact that each racing season, lots of horses fall, injure themselves and are then put down.
