It’s hat week at Newlife!

Children’s charity Newlife is launching a very special initiative starting from tomorrow.  Called ‘Hat Week’ . anyone buying  a hat could be in with a chance of winning a winter wardrobe of goodies at the Newlife SuperStore in Cannock.

Thanks to generous retail donors, Newlife has received a bumper batch of new hats and is now offering the opportunity for anyone buying a hat, next week, to be entered into a free draw to complete their winter wardrobe. This is fabulous for fashionista’s, for has the two Kate’s (the Duchess and Moss of course!) have shown, no winter wardrobe is complete without least one fabulous tifter.

The promotion will last for the whole week beginning on Monday 3rd October. One lucky hat-purchasing winner will be drawn at the end of the week, to receive a £100 voucher for SuperStore items from a range of coats, boots, shoes and accessories to add to their winter wardrobe.

The fun doesn’t end there. There is the opportunity to be a model and enter yourself in the ‘best hat wearer’ competitions on Facebook, where people can upload photos of themselves wearing hats in three categories: best female, best male and best child wearer. These will be judged and one person from each category will win a £25 Newlife voucher. To enter simply upload your picture onto the Newlife SuperStore Facebook page; log on to Facebook at www.facebook.com/newlifesuperstore and snap/share your photo on the wall.

I love this idea,  and think yet again Newlife are thinking outside the (hat)box when it comes to initiatives to raise money for charity. Newlife is the UK’s leading children’s disability charity specialising in support to aid children affected by all disabilities.  In addition to funding equipment grants and research, the charity also offers support services operated by specially trained nurses and campaigns for a fairer deal for children to obtain the essential equipment and services they deserve.  The charity needs over £100,000 a month to provide essential equipment, such as wheelchairs, beds, walking frames, seating, safety equipment and communication aids, to disabled children nationwide.

Newlife CEO, the fabulous Sheila Brown, says: “This is a great way to get a bargain hat and a chance to win clothes plus your purchase will help disabled children as the profits from the Newlife SuperStore sales go to Newlife Foundation for disabled children.”

Newlife fight the recession with £1 bargains

My favourite charity organisation Newlife are spoiling us again. They have added a purse friendly range of items that cost just£1 to their ‘Newlife at Home’ store. There are £1 items in their menswear, womenswear and childrenswear, along with small items for the home.  In addition, a £1 range of shoes and bags is soon to be added.

Newlife Operations Director, Colin Brown, says: “We are delighted to bring £1 clothing and gifts to our customers who can now get even more for their money at Newlife. As well as clothes for both adults and children, people can purchase other items such as beauty products, games and school equipment to name a few.”

When you think about it, £1 doesn’t really buy you very much these days – a bar of chocolate, half a bus journey, even a loaf of bread can cost more than £1. So Newlife must again be applauded for offering the bargain of the year. In addition to this, the money goes to support an amazing cause, Newlife is theUK’s leading children’s disability charity specialising in support to aid children affected by all disabilities.  In addition to funding equipment grants and research, the charity also offers support services operated by specially trained nurses and campaigns for a fairer deal for children to obtain the essential equipment and services they deserve.

The £1 promotion will be ongoing and is already proving to be a fantastic success, with customers grabbing loads of bargains whilst helping an amazing cause.

The Dunning Family kitted out for £10!

Budding Carrie Bradshaw’s brave the cold in Cannock for a night of high fashion

Fashion-Mommy was amongst those who braved the freezing conditions on Wednesday night to enjoy an evening of high fashion and cocktails in aid of children’s charity, Newlife.

The Bank Bar and Lounge was again the venue for a fashion evening in aid of Newlife. This was cleverly entitled Sex in the City 2, tying in nicely to the newly released sequel. Half price Cosmopolitans were on offer, as well as an array of tasty nibbles for those who found that the  shopping made them peckish.

There were amazing bargains to be had on the night. Beautiful party dresses in sizes that ranged from 6-24 were available for a fraction of the original High street retail price. These included full length and fabulous gowns as well as slinky cocktail dresses. There were also a good selection of glittery sequined blazers and tailored jackets that could provide the perfect cover up to your little black dress. These were retailing at just £15!

There were also amazing shoes and boxy evening bags on offer. I could resist a pair of gorgeous Karen Millen Mary Janes with a Holly Fulton style Art Deco heel. These were also £15, which feels like the bargain of the century for such an amazing pair of shoes. I also picked up two pairs of Chandelier earrings for £1 each. The fashion mags have been full of celebrities like Beyoncé wearing these, and they will make a fantastic addition to my Christmas wardrobe. I also spotted a River Island bag that I had purchased last summer for £25 available for just £8!

I just loved these Karen Millen shoes!

Look at the amazing heels!

There were also necklaces, bracelets, sunglasses and larger day bags for purchase. Each purchase was rewarded with Vicktor and Rolf perfume samples, another incentive, if any more was needed.

Newlife are currently trying to raise £371,765 in order to buy equipment to support the needs of 126 children. If you weren’t able to get along to the Sex in The City Nights held in Stourbridge and Cannock, take a look at their online auctions on Ebay that are being updated every day  at www.newlifecharity.co.uk/eBay, or you could pop along to the Newlife superstore based in Hemlock Way, Cannock. They have many Christmas bargains available, and you would be sure to find a special outfit for New Years Eve.
