Style Icon of the Month – Fan Bing Bing

    May 31, 2011 /

Fan Bing Bing is my nomination for style icon of the month after she wore a series of stunning looks at the Cannes film festival. I confess to not being that knowledgable about the lovely Chinese actress and singer, but what I do know is that every time she appears on the red carpet I gasp in astonishment. She always looks completely immaculate, perfectly groomed, and wears the most knock out outfits imaginable. This Cannes season she wore a series of beautiful looks from the likes of Oscar De La Renta, Louis Vuitton, Elie Saab and Atelier Versace. Beautiful hairstyles that mark Fan as the Queen of reinvention complimented each…

New Diana dress auction – rarely seen pieces!

    May 29, 2011 /

Every year seems to bring a new slew of auctions selling the dresses of the late Diana, Princess of Wales. This year has seen Kerry Taylor auctions selling a range of  dresses once belonging to the style icon, including a copy of the famous revenge dress. June will see an auction in Toronto, Canada of many dresses that once belonged to Diana. There are some much-loved dresses up for grabs, including the famous blue velvet White House dress  by Victor Edelstein she wore as John Travolta spun her around the dance floor in 1985. There are also a range of Catherine Walker dresses, including a asymmetrical pink sequined gown wore…

Michelle Obama wows UK with her first lady style.

    May 26, 2011 /

She came, she wore, she conquered. The amazing Michelle Obama showed why she is the most stylish US first lady since Jackie Kennedy this week when she visited the Uk and Ireland. From stunning full length gowns from Ralph Lauren and Tom Ford,  to paying tribute to the Brits by wearing Preen, they style savvy First Lady never put a foot wrong, charming us all with her natural style and elegance. Here is a look back at the outfits that made this the most stylish week  in politics ever! First stop was Ireland. Where Michelle arrived wearing a dress by US designer Peter Som. Kate – The Duchess of the High Street.

    May 24, 2011 /

She may now be a real life Duchess, and wife to the second in line to the British throne no less, but Kate, Duchess of  Cambridge remains the Queen of the British High street. Today, fresh from her honeymoon in the Seychelles, and looking tanned and gorgeous, she made her first official appearance since her wedding when she met the Obama’s during their visit to Buckingham Palace. Despite many calls that Kate should start to support British designers, Kate chose to wear the classy and elegant Shola dress from British High Street Store Reiss. This dress, which  costs £175, is currently available at Reiss stores and online. In  a biscuit…

    Cannes – Final Fashion moments.

    May 23, 2011 /

The Cannes film festival is at an end, and this year has been more starry than ever. Brad and Angelina, best actress winner Kirsten Dunst, Penelope Cruz and Johnny Depp, Uma Thurman, Gwen Stefani..the list has been a-list all the way. And the clothes have been amazing – some amazingly bad if truth be told. Here is the final Cannes fashion round-up. Kirsten Dunst looked wonderful in a mustard yellow dress by Chloe whilst promoting her film ‘Melancholia’, for which she was awarded the Palme D’or. This look was worthy of an award itself, for its total freshness and sunshine quality. I was less impressed with the Rodarte gown worn…
