Michelle Obama wows UK with her first lady style.

She came, she wore, she conquered. The amazing Michelle Obama showed why she is the most stylish US first lady since Jackie Kennedy this week when she visited the Uk and Ireland. From stunning full length gowns from Ralph Lauren and Tom Ford,  to paying tribute to the Brits by wearing Preen, they style savvy First Lady never put a foot wrong, charming us all with her natural style and elegance. Here is a look back at the outfits that made this the most stylish week  in politics ever!

First stop was Ireland. Where Michelle arrived wearing a dress by US designer Peter Som. She also wore a red dotted dress by Marc Jacobs, which had previously been worn by Leighton Meister.

Love this Marc Jacobs dress

When she arrived in the UK, (a little early to avoid the Ash Cloud), she wore a stunning vibrant blue suit by Preen, one of my favourite design teams. She looked amazing!

At Buckingham Palace there was a much-anticipated meeting between Michelle and our own new Queen of Style Kate, Duchess of Cambridge. Whilst Kate looked amazing in UK High Street brand Reiss, Michelle was the epitome of 1950s glamour in a gorgeous grey dress and pink bolero by Barbara Tfank.

Another engagement meant another outfit from that lusted after wardrobe. The Obamas moved onto 10 Downing Street where Michelle wore British designer Roksanda Illincic’s gorgeous violet full-skirted dress, teamed with a Narcisco Rodriguez blue coat. This colour clash worked a treat, this was my favourite outfit of the visit. The ever glamorous Samantha Cameron added a further style moment in her fabulous dress by Peter Pilotto.

The state dinner at Buckingham Palace saw a dress that has divided opinions. Was it too bridal? Was wearing the same shade as the Queen a fashion faux pas? Was it a tribute to Jackie Kennedy, who wore a similar white dress and gloves when visiting the palace 50 years before? To me, the white Tom Ford dress was simply breathtaking.

Another day means more dresses. Michelle and Samantha Cameron co-hosted a summer barbecue for servicemen at 10 Downing Street.Michelle wore a glamorous black and white dress from Tracy Reese, whilst Sam Cam was pretty in a blue and white dress from Jonathan Saunders.

At Oxford University, Michelle wore an Alexander McQueen outfit, which, has ever was belted. If they ever decide to have a patron saint of belts, then surely the title must go to Mrs Obama.

For the dinner hosted by The Obama’s at Winfield House, Michelle looked glorious in a full length black dress by Ralph Lauren and Tom Bins jewels.

Finally, and completing a perfect catalogue of looks, Michelle left the UK wearing a gorgeous purple Jacquard dress and jacket by Peter Som.
