Kate – The Duchess of the High Street.
She may now be a real life Duchess, and wife to the second in line to the British throne no less, but Kate, Duchess of Cambridge remains the Queen of the British High street. Today, fresh from her honeymoon in the Seychelles, and looking tanned and gorgeous, she made her first official appearance since her wedding when she met the Obama’s during their visit to Buckingham Palace.
Despite many calls that Kate should start to support British designers, Kate chose to wear the classy and elegant Shola dress from British High Street Store Reiss. This dress, which costs £175, is currently available at Reiss stores and online. In a biscuit shade, and with cap sleeves and knee-length, this dress perfectly complimented Kate’s golden tan. Kate wore this with black heels and a neat clutch bag.
I think Kate yet again made a great choice in this gown.Reiss is clearly a favourite brand, she wore the Nannette dress for her official Mario Testino engagement photographs. It is also one of the gems of the British High Street, celebrating its 40th anniversary this year.
The dress also seems a tribute to Michelle Obama, another public figure who will wear High Street clothing for public occasions, notably H&M and Gap. Michelle Obama looked beautiful in her 1950s style embroidered dress and pink cardigan.
This dress is sure to be another Kate related sell out. I have put the link to the dress below.
