Princess Beatrice has the last laugh over THAT hat!

It was the hat that launched a thousand quips! Designed by Phillip Treacy, we asked –  did it look like a toilet seat, a telletubby, a crab or all manner of other things. It was the hat which had its own  Facebook page, with thousands of followers, and was much discussed on television, in magazines and on Twitter. I  even had my own radio discussion about the hat on my local station Radio WM, chatting to Joanne Malin about the strange design. But tonight, Princess Beatrice is the person laughing longest and loudest. Rather than ignoring the ridicule, or sulking in a corner, the Princess decided to turn the hat…

Cannes continues – More Frock Stars and Frock Horrors.

Day 5 and 6 of the Cannes film festival have given us some more looks to sallivate over, and a few others that have left me shaking my head and asking ‘Why’. Good clothes have happened to good people, but bad clothes have also happened to good people. Here are some of my best and worst looks of the last few days. Good – Elizabeth Olsen in The Row. It is official, Elizabeth Olsen is the best advertisement ‘The Row’ will ever get. The little sister of Mary-Kate and Ashley wore her sister’s designs, a daytime look in white and a stunning black 1920s flapper look whilst promoting her film…

Sarah Jessica Parker – The style icon is back!

Like most women, I adore Sarah Jessica Parker and her inimitable style. She is, after all, Carrie Bradshaw – the women with the most lusted after wardrobe on both the small and silver screen. But lately, things have been quiet on the Carrie Bradshaw front. The critical mauling that Sex in the City 2 took means that it is looking very unlikely that there will be a Sex in the City 3,whilst Sarah herself had been a little quiet, seeming be photographed only when she was looking casual on the school run. But May has seen the  re-emergence of a true style icon. From a triumphant appearance at the met…

Cannes style – Looks that really should’ve been ‘canned’.

Cannes Film festival -Oh the sheer glamour of it all. But not all the looks are as flawless and perfect as those that have been worn by Diane Kruger and Tilda Swinton. Some, in fact should’ve been canned before the star/starlet let the house. Here are a few of those looks that had me shaking my head and wondering WHY? 1. Salma Hayak in leather Gucci. Lets spell it out slowly and carefully. Salma – you – are – not – playing – Frida – Kahlo – anymore. So ditch JLO’s flowers and get back to the looks we know and love. 2.Faye Dunaway. Jane Fonda showed us ageless style,…

Cannes fashion – Whose style radar was switched on?

The Cannes film festival is one of the most glittering, stylish events on the film or fashion calendar. Filled to the brim with A-List film stars, wannabe starlets and some of the Worlds most beautiful people, this is an event that brings out the best in star style. Here are some of my favourite looks from this year’s festival. 1. Sarah Jessica Parker in Dolce and Gabbana. This white lace collection has been one of the stars of the Spring/Summer season, and in the glorious surroundings of the French Riveria, it looks cool and fresh. Love the styling of this with acres of necklaces. 2. Diane Kruger. One person  whose…
