Kiera Knightley’s wedding – Rock and Roll Prom Style

Kiera Knightley got married this weekend, and I have to say how much I loved her whole look. Apparently recycling a Rodarte dress that she first wore a few years ago, and adding a Chanel jacket, pretty ballerina pumps and a chain of delicate flowers to her hair, she epitomised the cool and casual, low-key bride – and looked just wonderful.

I love so much about Kiera’s wedding style. In the days when excess is the norm (Kardashian’s anyone?), to see a bride looking so fresh and pretty is just so refreshing. Add in the fact that Kiera recycled an admittedly beautiful dress, and then slipped on a pair of shades, and you get a down-to-earth display that just charms.

Kiera’s Rodarte dress is prom style, and I think it makes her look like a modern-day Audrey Hepburn. If Audrey was around today and marrying her love, this is the look she would opt for. A prom dress, dark shades and Chanel – what’s not to love?

Kate – Two more looks from The Duchess of Style

It was another busy day for the Duchess of Cambridge yesterday, as Kate carried out three engagements with Prince William. This meant two outfits for Kate watchers to devour, and, in the case of her first outfit, cause yet another online stampede and sell out.

Kate and William were at Goldsmith Hall for their first engagement of the day. Kate wore a tweed effect mid blue suit from Rebecca Taylor for this event. The suit had a touch of Chanel about it with the frayed edge and tweed wool styling. The outfit seemed more suited to an Autumn/Winter engagement, which of course meant it was perfect for the current rotten weather and low climate.

This suit has a Jackie Kennedy kind of styling to it, and showed once again that the Duchess never seems as comfortable as she is when she wears blue. A small box clutch from Anya Hindmarch accessorised perfectly with the suit in a contrasting blue. The Rebecca Taylor jacket was still available online as the Duchess made her entrance at Goldsmiths Hall, but sold out within 30 minutes as Kate spotters rushed to get the look.

Kate’s second look of the day had a familiarity to it. At the Imperial War Museum, Kate wore an elegant, dark grey, long-sleeved shift style dress from Amanda Wakeley which she cinched in with an Alexander McQueen belt. The dress looked familiar because Kate wore an Oatmeal version of this dress when she visited the Royal Marsden hospital.
