Revamp your living room with John Lewis
If you’ve ever looked around your living room and longed to see something different, then you will know exactly where this post is coming from. My son Joe is now five, and it is safe to say that in his five years he has done his utmost to wreck the house. From crayon on the laminate floor, to endless drinks spilled on the sofa and cushions, children have absolutely no understanding of just how much you love your sofa, or why you treasured that vase, or why carpets and biscuits just don’t mix.
But completely redecorating a room does not come cheap, and whilst your kids are still under the age of eight (or, as in Joe’s case, as clumsy as it is humanly possible to be), it may be easier to revamp rather than to try to change everything. And that is where accessories come in.
Candles, cushions, beautiful glassware and gorgeous picture frames can all change the look and ambiance of a room. They are a great and easy way of changing your colour scheme, and can either be cheap fixes, or the way to add a little luxury to your home. This season John Lewis have some amazing home furnishings and accessories, with some very special commissioned pieces that are part of the 150 year anniversary celebrations. Here are some of my favourite home accessories that are currently on offer on the John Lewis website.
Cushions
There are two cushion collections I am currently obsessed with. The first is the 150 years range, in particular the Oxford Street store cushion in citrine. The second collection I love is the Coastal collection, which would look just great in a white and pale blue living room with white painted floorboards.

Frames
Decorative frames both look attractive, and share treasured memories. No room is complete without at least a couple of family photographs.

Vases
Whether you are using them for fresh flowers, or just as a showpiece, a vase can make a real statement.

I love John Lewis! That Orla Kiely vase is gorgeous, but I am not sure how long it would last in my house… Mel
