Looking At Your Garden – It’s Nearly Spring
There are so many things you can do to make your garden look good, and make sure it is a place of sanctuary, relaxation and fun for all your family. Even the smallest garden can become an extension of your home, a place where your children can enjoy playing, whilst you can sit and relax with a book and a glass of wine. As we finally head towards Spring, now is the perfect time to make those garden plans, looking at what you need to make your space ready.
Get some lighting
I think the one thing that can really change the look and feel of your garden is lighting, This could be in the form of fairy style lights that go around a gazebo or Summer house, or solar lights of all sizes that can be added to borders and planters. Garden lighting can cost as little as £1 and can go into the hundreds for Victorian style lamp posts. However, as garden lighting can be notoriously unreliable, a good choice is LED lighting which can also add colour into your space. LED lighting can come in the form of a range of in-ground driver over lights as well as ground spike lighting.
Garden lighting is just wonderful if you choose to use your garden in the evenings, whether to sit outside with a glass of wine, or use it to entertain. With LED lighting you can entertain safe in the knowledge that your guests wont end up sitting in the darkness when the lights decide not to work.
Barbecues
For me, the smell of a barbecue is the smell of the summer, because there really is nothing like cooking and eating outdoors. The great thing about barbecues is that they come in all different sizes, so whether you have a large garden, or small patio, you can find something that will be suitable for your space. Garden Centres is a good place to look for a new barbecue, with a good range of both charcoal and gas varieties. If you have enough space, you might even like to consider a horizontal smoker. Smokers are a great option for both BBQ’ing meat whilst adding in packets full of smoked flavour.
Furniture
Investing in a new garden table and chairs could be one of the best buys you make, especially if you plan to entertain in your garden. Enjoying your garden is much easier when you have something nice to sit on and relax. Other good investments include benches, loungers for those really sunny days, and even a hammock for the ultimate bit of garden fun.
