Christmas – it’s a feast of smells isn’t it. The gorgeous scents of cinnamon and mulled wine, of chestnuts roasting on an open fire, the mouthwatering aroma of a turkey roasting slowly in the oven. The most wonderful time of the year is also the most fragrant. Yeah right, who exactly am I trying to kid?
All the fragrances above are wonderful, but they are not the only smells associated with Christmas. The smell of cooking can become something you wish to escape from once you’ve had your fill of food. The aroma of sprouts is never good in my view, and once the whole family has feasted on them, the Christmas flatulence would frankly make you scared to light a match. The aroma of Christmas can be a bit of a pungent nightmare if we are being honest here.
Luckily Febreze have put together a gorgeously aromatic collection of scented candles, room sprays and reed diffusers in a lovely range of festive fragrances. From Vanilla Latte, Apple & Spice and Warm Cedarwood, these little life savers will make even the smelliest of rooms become warm and festive, and with a great rrp of just £2 – £6, these are the sort of things you can drop into the shopping trolley without breaking (the probably very empty at this minute…piggy bank.)
I have been trialing the Apple&Spice variety of products in different rooms of the house and just love the way they evocative of that traditional idea of Christmas. The room spray is great to also spray onto upholstery, it lingers in the air and on furniture for a long time, totally belying the bargain price. The candles also look great, total minimalistic chic that would fit into any living room, whatever the decor. Add to this the special, vintage Christmas inspired packaging, and you get some really lovely, and affordable home products that will just add to the Christmas feeling – your house looks Christmassy and will certainly smell Christmassy too…and I mean that in a good way!
*We were sent a lovely Christmas hamper from Febreze in order to review the new products.
