The starriest front row in Birmingham’s style calendar, along with the hottest trends by the Key designers for the coming season! That is a good description of the Harvey Nichols Fashion Show.  The show will take place on Tuesday 1st March and Wednesday 2nd March in the glamorous setting of the Birmingham store, based in the beautiful Mailbox.

Guests will be treated to a catwalk show unveiling the new Spring/Summer 2011 collections. Designer ranges from Dolce and Gabbana, Roberto Cavalli, Gucci, DKNY and Alexander McQueen, now under the auspices of Sarah Burton, will all be included in the fashion show.

The show will also include ranges from new and contemporary designers. Wildfox, famous for their Love Potion No 9 jumpers won by stars such as Taylor Swift, Audrina Partridge and Frankie Sandford, will display their new collection, along with Markus Lupfer, Paul and Joe sister and Hoss Intropia.

In need of pampering – step this way!

Tuesday night’s are not exactly the most exciting time of the week under normal circumstances. For Fashion-mommy it usually consists of  Eastenders, a nice soak in the bath and a bit of Gordon Ramsey. So, if you’re in Birmingham next Tuesday, why not have a night away from the telly and enjoy a bit of retail therapy and pampering at the Council House?

There is going to be a lifestyle evening on Tuesday night, to be held to raise funds for the Lord Mayor‘s Charities. There are a whole range of activities and attractions including Make up demonstrations, beauty treatments and therapies, fashion and jewellery to be purchased. If your feeling creative there are lace making and embroidery demonstrations. You could purchase some extra special items for Christmas as there will be gifts and hand-made cards on sale too.

Tickets are just £5 each, and this includes a goody bag and a complimentary drink on arrival.

The funds raised on the night will go to support the Lord Mayor’s charities. This year they are the Birmingham PHAB CAMPS, The Stroke association Birmingham branch, Bid services, and the Burns unit at Birmingham children’s hospital.

I spoke to the Lady Mayoress of Birmingham, Gillian Gregor y, at a recent store opening and she said that the event promises to be a real  girlie night of pampering to enjoy just before the Christmas rush begins.

The Lord Mayor’s lifestyle night starts at 7.00pm on Tuesday 16th November. Tickets can be purchased from the Lord Mayor’s parlour, For more information contact 0121 303 2040.
