A Cosy Autumn Break By The Sea
When we think of taking a break in the UK, our thoughts are often pulled towards the Spring/Summer months when we feel the weather is likely to be better, and there’s a chance we could get to the beach and enjoy some real quality time. But Autumn and Winter offer wonderful chances to escape from the rat race for a few days, and enjoy some late year sunshine, whilst also getting warm and cosy with your nearest and dearest.
Suffolk is a great county to enjoy this Autumn. Full of little towns and villages that offer you a perfect opportunity to get away to the countryside, to enjoy lovely walks and treks in some beautiful scenery, Suffolk is a place where you can enjoy the best that Britain has to offer this Autumn. But mindful of the changes in the weather, you also have the opportunity to look at a range of cottages and accommodation that offers plenty in the way of comfort. There are many cottages that have their own wood burners or full open fires so that you enjoy the fresh air during the daylight hours, but can then be warm and cosy as you enjoy a glass of wine and a boxset when the weather turns dark and cold as the night draws in.
My tip would be to look for a village that has at least one good pub where you can enjoy a meal if you decide your holiday doesn’t include cooking. A few local shops would be useful, although you can take most of the basics with you. Some cottages are also available for Christmas rental, which is perfect if your idea of Christmas fun is getting away from it all and staying somewhere warm and cosy. After all, nothing offers itself more to cottage living than a Christmas jumper and a glass of mulled wine.
So if you are looking for an Autumn or Winter break, remember, this doesn’t having to include jetting off to Foreign climes, it could just mean getting in your car and packing your Winter woollies.
