A fashion for Eyebrows

I must admit, the one part of my beauty regime that I sometimes neglect is my eyebrows. I do pluck and shape, and am a little obsessed with Blink products that slightly darken my quite light brows, but, in general, I find that this is an area I often ignore when applying make-up to the rest of my face. This is a shame really, as eyebrows can completely change the look of your face, with perfect brows something that modern day stars like Cara Delevingne have become famous for.

Cosmetic Surgery experts Transform have just celebrated their 40th birthday, and, as part of the celebrations, they have produced a series of fun infographics looking at different aspects of beauty. The one I like the best concerns eyebrows and is full of interesting, and sometimes surprising facts about eyebrows, including what the shape of your eyebrows says about you.

One of the most shocking facts is that the interest in eyebrow transplants is rising considerably due to the ‘Cara’ effect, with ladies looking for thicker, bushier brows to emulate the stunning Miss Delevingne. If you have plucked excessively in the past your eyebrows may not grow as thick as you would like and so an eyebrow transplant may be something you would consider. With 45% more enquiries about this procedure in 2014, you wouldn’t be the only one!

What is your beauty regime when it comes to your brows? Do you pluck them yourself, or have them threaded professionally? What products do you swear by, or do you leave them to grow naturally? Do you have a brow inspiration? Let me know by leaving a comment below.

If I was aware people were going to want eyebrow transplants in the future I would have been happy to share when I first started plucking as a teenager, I had a full on monobrow going on. Even now they take some work! I wouldn’t dream of shaving them off but shaping was definitely a necessary evil.
