A Father’s Day Gift Guide
Father’s Day has almost crept up on us this year (can you believe it is almost June – where exactly has the time gone?). If you’re like me, you might find Father’s Day to be a much trickier proposition than Mother’s Day, with dad never really giving much idea of what sort of gift he would like, saying the old faves ‘I don’t want anything’, or the one that makes me almost scream ‘Just get me anything’.
So this guide features a few gifts that I like to call, thinking outside the box. They should address the personality of most dads and will hopefully take some of the legwork out of Father’s Day gift hunting.
A personalised gift from Asda Photo
We all know Asda as a supermarket, and for its fabulous George clothing, but have you heard about Asda Photo? Asda Photo is there to address all your photography needs, but also offers a wide range of photography gifts and personalised gifts, that start from just £1 in price.
There are magnets, washbags, keyrings, cushions and cards, all of which can be decorated with a personal photograph of your choice, making them a lovely idea, especially for a new, or first time dad celebrating his first Father’s Day.
My pick is the lovely acrylic photo block that would make a great piece of desk art for dad. You could chose a picture of dad with the kids, or maybe dad’s favourite photo, and have this transformed into a lovely gift that dad will treasure.
A mug from Flightstore
If you are looking for something a little unusual, or have a dad who is obsessed with all things flying, then a gift from Flightstore, the UK’s no 1 pilot outfitters, could be the perfect present. They sell all manner of gifts that are associated with flight, from airplane bottle openers to NASA t-shirts via Spitfire cufflinks, so you will find something for that your dad will enjoy and love.
I love the First Flight B-17 Flying Fortress mug, which has a really stylish design and at just £6.95 is an affordable, pocket money option.
Personalised Beer and Lager From Personalised Bottle Labels
If you dad is a bit of a connoisseur when it comes to a tipple, then what could be a better gift than his own personalised bottle of beer or lager. That is one of the great gift options available from Personalised Bottle Labels.
The company offers a range of alcohol choices, Heineken, Budweiser, Peroni, Stella, Becks, Guinness or Newcastle Brown. These come in large 500ml bottles and you can then add the personalisation of your choice on the label, be it a name (or just dad in this case) and also a message, with a line for the occasion (Father’s Day) and two additional lines for a personal message.
I chose Peroni for my hubby as it is a favourite lager, and added a message. Delivery was swift and the bottle was well presented in a gold bottle gift box. I think this is a really affordable treat for just £11.99, I am sure that once the beer has been drank, the bottle will be kept as a keepsake.
Root7 Onebottle in Black Marble
If dad is sporty, likes cycling or takes his own water or drinks to work with him and is interested in cutting down his plastic waste, then the Root7 Onebottle is a brilliant gift that is not only super stylish, but is also practical and eco friendly.
Root7 are known for their stylish barware and tools, and now they have created the ultimate stylish bottle. The bottle has a beautiful black marble design and is double walled stainless steel with an internal copper coated layer for added performance and insulation. The unique and stylish design is combined with high-quality finish allowing water to be kept cold for 30 hours and it stays hot for 20 hours. This means the bottle is great for both Summer and Winter, for soup as well as water and juice, for both travel and work.
Nextbase 122 Dash Cam
A Dash Cam is fast becoming the car accessory that you can’t live without. While your eyes are watching the road, the Dash Cam will film any accidents or skirmishes you might have, and can also be set to film when you are not in the car, for instance, on public car parks, helping you to explain any damage or scratches that may occur when you are not around.
The Nextbase 122 Dash Cam is the perfect entry level dash cam for those who have never used one. Easy to set up and install, with Click&Go PRO™ car mount with integrated magnetic power connectors and HD resolution from 720p to 1080p HD, this device gives you piece of mind, and a little bit of insurance for less than £50.
A Gift Experience From Red Letter Days
If your dad would prefer an experience rather than an actual gift, then Red Letter Days are definitely the way to go. For Father’s Day they have a range of experiences which should appeal to every dad, from the adventurous type, to the foodie, from those who get their frills from driving (cars and tanks!), to those who really want to try something new, whether that be power boating, or indoor skydiving.
And if dad prefers the finer things in life, you could treat both him and mom to a dining delights gift box, or a meal at Gordon Ramsey’s Savoy Grill, or a table with a view at the Shard.
You can find a whole load of experiences that are perfect for Father’s Day by browsing here.
