A little bit of Christmas with Nākd Bars
One of the main difficulties when you are trying to eat healthily is the dangers of snacking. It is so easy to eat a healthy meal and do everything right, and then find yourself feeling peckish and snacking on something totally wrong, undoing all your good work. Sweets, crisps and biscuits are all temptation when you are trying to be good. And don’t even get me started on chocolate. But thankfully, a tasty alternative may be on hand.
Natural Balance Foods have a whole selection of tasty, but healthy treats on offer, with their Nakd bars giving the appearance of a chocolate bar – thereby feeling your brain into thinking it’s having a naughty treat. But Nakd bars are anything but naughty. Instead they are simply raw fruit and nuts combined in one tasty bar. Nakd bars contain 100% natural ingredients, with no added sugars or syrups. In addition, they are perfect for people with food allergies as they are also wheat, dairy and gluten-free. All that fruity goodness also count towards 1 of your 5 a day too.
The Nakd bars come in a range of flavours, from banana crunch, to the simply delicious Bakewell Tart flavour. They have also recently launched a special flavour for Christmas. The Nakd Christmas Pud bar contains 49% dates, 35% cashews and 16% raisins, along with a hint of natural flavour. I was sent some of the bars to try, but, unfortunately, as much as I love Christmas, I’m not a fan of Christmas pudding. The good news is that I had some testers who volunteered their services to me!
My husband Pete works as part of a team who convert lofts. Each day he takes a packed lunch to work. The Nakd bars are a perfect snack to add to a packed lunch, offering a good way to refuel between meals. Pete has been taking the bars daily, along with a few extra for the rest of the team (Pete No. 2 and Spud, pictured above.) All have been really impressed by the flavours of the bars, which genuinely taste like a chocolate pudding. This team of hungry workers have most definitely converted to the taste of wholefoods.
*I was sent a case of bars for review purposes.

I have tried some of their range before and liked them. Not tried these flavours though.
