Adding Artwork to your walls
An effective way to add your personality, and your own personal stamp onto a room is through your walls. The sort of wall covering you opt for, be it traditional wallpaper, murals, art work and canvases can reveal a lot about your taste and personality, and can also change a room from ‘just ok’ into a truly fabulous place. What you add to your walls can very much depend on the size of the room in question, but regardless of whether you have a lavish sized room, or a box sized bedroom, there is a stylish option to suit every room. Here are some ideas I have picked up from the Pixers website.
Creating a Feature Wall
A great way of creating a fixed focal point for a room is by creating a feature wall. This can be anything, from a mural of the New York Skyline, to an Art Deco style print that will contrast beautifully if the other walls are left plain. A feature wall can work in any room – perfect in a bedroom if the bed is placed on it, great for a living room if there is a chimney breast, or placed around a fire surround.
A large wall canvas
A large wall canvas is another way of making a feature wall in your room. The canvas could be in the form of a photograph that you have transferred to canvas through a printing company, or a piece of classic or contemporary artwork. You can use this to pick out the colours you have used in the interiors in the room, or to add contrast, or even a splash of colour to a neutral or monochrome room. I love the window canvas which I think could be used to make a smaller room look bigger.
A wall sticker
Wall stickers are a great way to transform a wall if you are on a tighter budget. Attractive but inexpensive, they can work well in children’s rooms and nurseries, and can also provide a cool feature in a kitchen as part of a splashback. Opt for wipe clean versions for these rooms and they can be a real focal point.
Do you have a special wall feature in your home?

We’ve got some really fun featured patterned wallpaper. My favourite is the feathers in the living room!

I actually have quite a few photos in a large format which we had framed but I would love to add a huge canvas to my living room too.
