Afternoon Tea Delivered To Your Door With Bonnie’s Place

Afternoon tea is one of my favourite kinds of treat, something I love to do with my mom and sister, a way to enjoy gorgeous sweet treats whilst having a gossip and putting the world to rights. But, like so many other things, it is something that has been put on hold as we have been placed in a situation when all our favourite eateries, tearooms and restaurants have had to close for the foreseeable future.

The good news for those who love this quintessentially English treat is that many food outlets have found ways to adapt to the situation in the form of take out and delivery options. It is through a delivery option that I was able to enjoy an afternoon tea treat with Joe last friday.

Bonnie’s Place is based at Cherry Tree Court, Essington and has been offering an afternoon tea option that is delivered free in Essington, and with a small delivery charge for addresses a little further afield. Orders can be made by telephone or through their Facebook page and is quick and easy.

We had our afternoon tea on Friday afternoon and would highly recommend it, the food was plentiful and delicious, with really lovely presentation in a gift style box. There is a choice of sandwiches – ham, cheese, egg and tuna, and you can choose 3, with pickle also being an option for the cheese.

All your components of the perfect afternoon tea are there, scones, cream and jam, macarons, and sweet treats in the form of a cream horn and a mini Victoria sponge (my personal favourite!). There are also other additions that add a savoury element – crisps and a sausage roll. Add some shortbread and strawberries and you have a really delicious selection – all for £10 per person.

The box also contains a teabag and a cappuccino sachet so you can add your favourite hot drink to your meal, or you could go all out and open a bottle of fizz if you are feeling decadent.
