Carnaby Street and Grazia Fashion Party
Last Thursday Fashion-Mommy enjoyed a lovely evening at the Carnaby Street fashion party, held in collaboration with Grazia magazine. For one special night only, shoppers were treated to 20% discount at all Carnaby Street stores, whilst being treated to gorgeous mulled cider at the White Horse pop-up bar in Kingly Court.
There were other treats to enjoy. There were complimentary make overs at Illamasqua, whilst a traditional barber was on hand to treat the boys at Ben Sherman. There were also opportunities to take part in photo shoots at Revival, and funny seaside style shoots at David and Goliath…you can see the result of that below!
And of course, with all those discounts to take advantage of, there was a lot of shopping to be done. Pick of the shops were definitely Office, Ollie and Nic and the weird and wonderful shoes of Irregular Choice. In Office, there were definite favourites that were contenders for the Dorothy Shoe awards, including the gold glitter mesh shoes that are dead ringers for a certain pair of Miu Miu shoes! The Awake the Neighbours blue suede numbers, recently worn by Cher Lloyd, were also highly admired.
Irregular Choice just stunned me with its totally off the wall designs. I love the use of 18th century shapes and the brocade and ribbon trims. One pair of shoes just reminded me of Ziggy Stardust in shoe form!
The final store on our Carnaby Street jaunt was Ollie and Nic. As well as the aforementioned discounts, Ollie and Nic had a fantastic sale on its handbags. Keeping with the evenings quirky theme, I fell in love with the apple-shaped bag, and the cool knitted headbands, whilst making a mental note of the stylish cosmetic cases that could definitely double as mini clutch bags to take you from the office to the bar with ease.
The Carnaby Street event was a fabulous, fun-filled night that was truly enjoyable, and definitely started the festive party season in some style.
