Christmas Party Dressing With Kasbah Clothing

Christmas is definitely a time when we can dress up and add some sparkle to our days. Whether it be dressing for a party, a works do, a family get together, or just literally wearing sequins every day in the run up to December 25th, sparkle and shine is totally acceptable.But with money tighter than ever, this year I’ve decided to shop my wardrobe for the sparkly pieces, and instead add timeless classics and accessories that I will be able to wear all the year through. And for that, I’ve looked to Kasbah Clothing.

Kasbah Clothing is an online clothing retailer with the sole focus of providing comfortable yet stylish pieces for plus-size women. The business is the brainchild of renowned British designer Heather Griffiths-Benhrima, who resurrected the brand in 2019 after earlier successes almost 20 years ago as well as a long career designing for other successful plus size brands. The Creative director of the brand is Becky Barnes. Becky is a well known plus size plus-size fashion writer and  influencer who I know and admire in the blogging world, and have worked with on previous occasions. These two ladies understand style and fashion,  and, more importantly,  dressing a figure that is not a size 10.

I was recently asked if I would be interested in styling some pieces from Kasbah for Christmas, and so decided to restyle an old glitter polo neck from H&M that I’d last worn Christmas 2019. I chose to wear it with the gorgeous Pru wide leg crinkle trousers, which come in two leg lengths. Wide leg trousers have been a big story this year, and this pair are so comfortable to wear, as they have an elasticated waistband, allowing for an extra Christmas pudding. I wore size 16-18 and the regular leg length, and loved the look – these are just so easy to wear.

I’m 5ft 7 and was wearing the regular leg with a mid heel boot. If you are shorter, you could wear with a higher heeled boot or shoe, or even pull the waist higher with a tunic top worn over, as Kasbah have styled them.

I accessorised the look with a beautiful necklace from the Suzie Blue range. Kasbah sell some stunning jewellery that is the perfect way to accessorise your outfit to make a statement. This necklace is a silver plated pendent from Suzie Blue Jewellery, a family run business that work closely with artisan manufacturers.

My final piece is an absolute essential. I love a cross body bag at any time of the year, but at Christmas, whether navigating the Christmas markets, or dancing the night away at a party, these are just a godsend. The Lua cross body bag in animal print is a great size for your card, key, phone and lippie, and the animal print is so eye catching, and totally a neutral! I love the length of the strap, which is perfect – neither too long or short,  and the front pocket is the perfect place for train tickets or Oyster cards.

Kasbah is a great way to discover new, totally wearable fashion pieces for all year around. Starting from size 14-16 and going to 28-30, it has brilliant range and affordable quality.
