Dream Honeymoon Destinations For 2022
If you were to produce a list for the criteria for dream honeymoon destinations, what would be in the list? White sandy beaches? Endless days of blue skies? Idyllic romantic hideaways where you and your loved one can spend quality time away from the crowds? Restaurants where you can enjoy candlelight suppers? I’m guessing all of these things would be somewhere in the list.
Here are four dream destinations that would probably tick all the boxes to create that dream honeymoon.
India
India is an incredibly beautiful holiday destination that suits those who want to experience history and culture as well as stunning beaches and sunsets. A great way to tailor your trip to is to book your flight tickets to India seperately from your accomadation in order to get the best deals, and maybe experience more than one place – from the beaches and idyllic setting of Goa, to the beauty and romance of the Taj Mahal.
Most of the main UK airports offer daily flights to India, making this a honeymoon destination that is easy to reach, and then difficult to forget.
The Maldives
The Indian ocean Islands of The Maldives could well illustrate the definition of paradise in any dictionary. A dream Maldives island holiday is a tropical delight, with many secluded islands where you and your loved one can enjoy the peace and tranquility of the crystal blue warm waters that are perfect for snorkeling and diving, the softest of sandiest beaches and hotels that often combine spa facilities too.
With 1,190 small islands making up The Maldives, you can be sure that you will be able to enjoy tranquility, but can still combine this with watersports, snorkeling the coral reefs and even enjoying night swimming. A perfect honeymoon destination.
Lindos
Lindos on the Greek island of Rhodes is an ideal honeymoon destination for those who like to experience history and culture as well as beautiful beaches. Lindos has a wonderful Acropolis which can only be reached on foot or on a Lindos donkey, as well as many other beautiful churches filled with priceless treasures.
Due to the narrow streets, cars are not allowed through the town of Lindos, which adds to its sleepy feel. A visit to St Paul’s Bay is also a must, the clear waters are just wonderful for those who love to swim in the sea.
Crete
If history is your kind of thing, then the birthplace of the Minoan culture is certainly a place you have to add to your bucket list.
Crete is a stunning mixture of myths and legends and paradise. The birthplace of Zeus, and Greece’s largest island, must visit places include the Heraklion archaeological museum, and Knossos, possibly Europe’s oldest city.
Venice
The gondolas may be a bit of a cliche for many, but it remains a fact that Venice is one of the most romantic cities in the world, an otherworldly, mysterious place. Thee best time to go to Venice is February, when the city is alive with the fabulous, vibrant carnival, but at any time of the year Venice is a special place, where you travel by water buses and taxis to get from a to b. A visit to Venice can also be extended to the beautiful islands of Murano and Burano, famous for glass and lace respectively, the ideal place to pick up a piece of jewellery or a beautiful scarf for your new bride.
Whatever your taste, whether it be for sun, sea and sand, or a touch of culture and learning, a honeymoon should be the most special time in an unforgettable place. India, Lindos, The Maldives and Venice certainly fit that bill.
