Duchess of Cambridge’s Winter Warmers
What a couple of weeks it has been for the Duchess of Cambridge. Last week she was the picture of health as she visited Cambridge and then Scotland, even playing a quick game of hockey. This week we get the announcement of her pregnancy and then the shock news she is in hospital suffering from a debilitating form of morning sickness. Happily, she emerged today looking happy and healthy and as stylish as ever, so now I feel it’s time to review Kate’s recent wardrobe choices.
Kate in Cambridge
A gorgeous new coat in an Ivory shade that has slight hints of pink was the order of the day when the Duke and Duchess hit Cambridge for a one day visit. The coat was the Belli, a cashmere mix number from Max Mara that had been purchased in a House of Fraser Sale. The main talking point for the watching fashion press was that Kate was wearing the pretty bow belt upside down, whether accidentally or on purpose, no-one was actually sure.

Next up – a bit of McQueen in Scotland
I guess it was a little bit of dressing by numbers with Kate in Scotland wearing tartan, but I think that the Alexander McQueen coat/dress she chose was beautiful. Tartan and plaid is such a stunning fabric/print for winter, and this look, with its a-line skirt, was extremely flattering. I love Black Watch tartan, and this looked great for Kate’s hair and colouring.

Out of hospital.
Kate left hospital today, wrapped up against the chill in a really lovely coat with frill detail and a knotted scarf in a cornflower blue shade. I will bring an update on this outfit later in the week.
