Gabor Jess Ladies Casual Wedge Heel Sandals Review

Until this review, I had never really taken too much notice of the brand Gabor. I knew that it was synonymous with very high quality, the sort of shoes that you buy and can then wear for years, as my mom was a bit of a fan. But, if I am being honest, I also thought that Gabor was a brand that was, well, a bit frumpy. And despite the fact that I am in my 40s, frumpy is something I still try to avoid. However, when it came to Gabor, I couldn’t have been more wrong.

Yes Gabor is about quality. Yes Gabor is also about comfort. But the brand and its designs are far from frumpy. They have a great range that covers everything from perfect summer sandals to pretty wedges and ballerina styles, and these shoes are stylish and fashionable, and certainly more than a match for anything you will find on the High Street.

Take, for instance, the Gabor Jess Ladies Casual Wedge Heel Sandals, which I have literally been living in for the past couple of weeks as we enjoy a stunning heatwave.  The Jess sandals mix bronze and silver metallics for a statement look that makes them suitable for being worn with shorts in the day, and a cute shift dress or playsuit after dark.  They have a raffia wedge heel that is a comfortable enough height to be worn for long periods of time, but the sole is latex rubber which makes them hard wearing too.

The sandals are really comfortable to wear and this is due in no small part to the micro fibre lining and footbeds that cushion your feet and give them extra comfort during the day.  The sandals come in half sizes, which I always find a huge selliing point (I wear size 5, but my feet sometimes swell due to my diabetes, so I often opt for a half size for that bit of flexibility.)

The sandals look very attractive and are the sort of shoe that you don’t actually have to wear in – they feel instantly comfortable. The ankle straps have enough holes to be adjusted for those days when your feet have swollen and need a little extra room, and the mixed metallics look so cool and fresh.
