House of Fraser Press day
I’m a huge fan of so many of the House of Fraser brands. I totally adore the retro glamour of the Biba collection, the timeless elegance of Linea, and the cool style of Pied a Terre. So it is no surprise that the House of Fraser press day was one of the most eagerly anticipated in my calender this season. And even though it took place on one of the rainiest London days in recent memory, the fabulous fashion and accessories on display meant that even the weather couldn’t dampen my mood and enthusiasm for the feast of fashion on offer.
For Autumn and Winter House of Fraser is reaching for high octane glamour. The Biba range is just full of the most amazing handbags, incorporating Art Deco style retro shapes, mock croc effects, and using an unusual shade of green, making the perfect alternative to classic (but let’s be honest sometimes a little bit boring) black leather. I fell in love with the half moon shapes and bamboo style handles, real arm candy that every woman deserves.
The popular Mary Portas range is still going strong, and has some great dresses, in both block colours and striking prints. I love that cobalt blue is still a story for the next season. There were so many impressive looks on display. Below are some more of the pieces that I think will prove to be a huge hit when they start to hit stores later this summer. The soft, duck egg leather biker jacket from Pied A Terre is just incredible, and the Biba black and gold fringed dress once again shows the Gatsby influence still shows no signs of going away, it is a total showstopper of a dress that will wow at Christmas parties and the festive season.
I had a great time at this press event, I loved the collections on display, and was very partial to the Biba sign that dominated the Biba room.
With thanks to House of Fraser for the invitation.
