Jasmine Harman At Cotton Traders

We are now deep in the midst of Summer, and, so far, it has been a bit of a scorcher, so who best to help us choose key pieces for our wardrobe than Jasmine Harman. The presenter of Channel 4’s flagship programme ‘A Place in the Sun’ worked with one of my fave brands Cotton Traders last Summer, collating the perfect holiday collection. This year, she is back, choosing pieces that will work in your wardrobe, for a vacation, or a staycation. I have been test driving a few of my personal faves, and have to say, I salute Jasmine’s choices.

Pull On Crinkle Maxi Skirt

The main thing about Summer fashion is that it has to be comfortable. This is particularly true if we have a hot Summer, or if you are travelling to hot countries. Comfort means avoiding lots of buttons and zips and instead opting for pull on styles in cool fabrics. The Pull On Crinkle Maxi Skirt from Cotton Traders is a perfect Summer piece. For a start it has that thick elasticated waistband that allows for over indulgence, and also for those bloated days (for a peri menopausal woman, this is a godsend.) It also has pockets, which is, quite frankly, the Holy Grail when it comes to dresses and skirts.

The crinkle style fabric means it always looks great, even if you don’t have an iron handy, and, after wearing it a on a very warm day, I can confirm it is really cool to wear, in a non stick fabric and style.

Essential Short Sleeve V Neck T-Shirt

There is nothing like a classic white t-shirt. It is a piece that will literally go with everything, from your jeans to a classic skirt. The Cotton Traders Essential Short Sleeve V Neck T-Shirt is created in pure cotton which makes it coolly comfortable and breathable. It has a slub texture to the fabric for added tactility, making it stretchy and comfortable, and it is non see thru, a really good quality t-shirt that washes like a dream.

I like the v neck detail. as it isn’t too deep to make it revealing, meaning  this is a perfect, everyday top, that would even be fine as a work top.

Long Printed Kimono

The beautiful long printed kimono is one of the absolute statement pieces from the Cotton Traders this season. It comes in two colourways, with Jasmine Herman choosing the ivory colour, and also comes in a shorter version. This is the most exquisite cover up, with a border print to hem and ¾ sleeves that make it a really striking piece to wear.

This would be great worn over jeans, or cut offs for a boho look on holiday. It is also great to travel in as the air con can often make the plane feel chilly. I wore this over a dress on a rainy day, and really liked the look.
