One of the loveliest things I have ever received as a fashion blogger came through my door earlier this month. On the very day I was celebrating my second blog birthday I received the most gorgeous clutch bag I had ever seen courtesy of Selfridges. This beautiful item come with a letter explaining that this was a piece from the new collection from Kzeniya – and I was truly intrigued. Who was Kzeniya, and what other designs had she produced.
Kzeniya Oudenot, a graduate of London’s St Martin’s College of Art and Design. formed her company in 2010 after a career that had seen her organising events and designing sets and costumes for operas and ballets. She had also worked for Alexander McQueen, Royal Opera House and Scottish Ballet, developing the skills and eye for the dramatic that is so apparent in her stunning bag designs. Now her bags are a celebrity fave, with stars such as Fergie, Jennifer Lopez, Rashida Jones and Ginnifer Goodwin amongst her fans.
The collection is gorgeous, with the clutches taking centre stage. Made in metallic leather and with chains, studs and leopard print adornments, these are accessories that will make you stand out in a crowd. My bag is the totally wonderful Wild Chain Clutch in silver, an envelope style clutch with thick chains handing around the edge. Beautifully dramatic, this has a small pocket inside that is perfect for credit cards or taxi numbers, whilst the bag itself is compact, I got my key, money, phone and lippie inside.
All bags come in a wonderful dustbag that helps to get your bag preserved in good condition (particularly if, like me, you store your bags under the bed…). I adore my bag, and am now making a lust list of all the other Kzeniya bags I need to add to my collection. And with celebrities like Jennifer Lopez, Fergie and Ginnifer Goodwin also joining the Kzeniya fan club, you will be in good company if you succomb to the allure of these beautiful bags.
Here are a few of my other favourites for you to drool over…
