One essential piece for any wardrobe is a go anywhere/wear anywhere dress. The sort of dress that you can wear with your trainers for a trip to the shops or a school run, or add some jewellery and some heels and it can take you to a restaurant or for cocktails. This dress is a winner in your wardrobe, it earns its keep by being versatile and also helps you to avoid buying a new dress for every single occasion, making it a thrifty buy too.
High Street Outlet is a brand that long time readers of this blog will remember, they sell great quality High Street brand names at a fraction of the original price. Labels are removed, but if you know your High Street, you will definitely recognise lots of the pieces, and if you missed out on something first time around, it is worth browsing to see if you can find it here.
High Street Outlet currently has a brilliant ‘wear anywhere’ dress that is stretchy and comfy, and yet oh so stylish. The LILAC JERSEY SUMMER DRESS was formally from a high end High Street brand, with an rrp of £65, so it is a real bargain find now at just £16.99. It is sleeveless, and is a stretchy jersey fabric that makes it very easy to wear, and allows for those extra desserts.
The dress has a v neckline, but is not plunging, so it could work for Summer in the office if you are now back to work, and the length is also flattering, falling just below the knee. This is a fit and flow dress, with the bust being fitted, and then flowing into the looser fit skirt, making it perfect for those who want to conceal a problem area of hips and tummy.
I love this dress so much, it is a dream to wear. The gathered detail under the bust gives it shape, and the armholes are not tight – sometimes a problem with sleeveless dresses. The colour is rich and vibrant, and would actually work well for Winter if you add opaque tights and wear with a polo neck jumper underneath.
Accessorising this dress is pretty easy – anything goes. I wore espadrilles and added a straw basket for a Summer look, on cooler days I would change the espadrilles for trainers and add a denim jacket. I wore colour clashing pink jewellery, but neutral accessories or adding a touch of animal print would work well too.
