Reviewed – Thermolactyl round neck sweater

It is almost as if the weather knew the calendar had turned to the November page. Or maybe it guessed that it was the weekend before Bonfire Night, and that this would require periods of time spent outside, trying to get as close to the bonfire as humanly possible without turning into a Guy Fawkes. Either way, the weather has turned decidedly cold, and our wardrobe now needs to react to this undoubted fact.

Which is why I am turning to my thermals. And in the year that they are celebrating  60 years of  production of their brilliant thermal range, I don’t think you could find better thermal products than those stocked by Damart. Damart have turned the image of thermals on its head, giving the products a sense of style that is far away from the idea of something that is just worn over underwear to keep us warm. Damart has managed to modernise the traditional thermal pieces, and to add an additional thermolactyl range that turns thermals into gorgeous pieces of outerwear.

The product that I was sent to review was the thermolactyl round neck sweater. This sweater comes in two shades, a red/gold combination and a grey marl one, which is the colour I opted for. The jumper is a combination of  thermal and wool for a mix that combines daytime outerwear with the warm of thermal underwear. The jumper is also stretchy for extra comfort.

The first thing I want to say is how much I love this jumper. It has a 1950s retro feel with the round neck and short sleeves, reminding me of the sort of thing that Grace Kelly would’ve teamed with a matching cardigan and pearl necklace for the classic twinset and pearls piece. The neckline is super flattering as it isn’t too high up the neck, whilst the short sleeves are not tight on the arms. I love the metallic ribbing on the hemline which gives it a dressy feel, and the thermalactyl makes it warm and comfortable.

I teamed my sweater with a pencil skirt and heels for a smart look that could carry you from the office to the bar for after work drinks. You could easily add a blazer over this for a complete work look, but I also added a floral jacket for a look more suited to the weekend.
