Sienna Miller – Queen of Cannes
The Cannes film festival finished on Sunday, and I have to say I really enjoyed the glamorous fashion that had been on display this year. There were some truly beautiful looks worn by the likes of Lupita Nyong’u, Julianne Moore, Fan BingBing and Kendall Jenner, but, in my opinion, grand jury member Sienna Miller was the Queen of Cannes style, with a series of stylish, memorable looks.
Sienna first came to prominence as a style icon in her Jude Law days, when a series of boho looks made her a fashion darling. If I’m honest, I was never that impressed then, Kate Moss had done it better and done it first, and although imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, finding your own style is a much better move. 2015 has been Sienna’s style year. She looked great at both the Oscars and the Met Ball, and she paraded a series of looks at Cannes that showed her style versatility and her impeccable taste. Teamed with her chic, tousled bob, she absolutely smashed it!
Sinnna’s style is an ecletic mixture of simple styles and clean lines for day wear, contrasted with glitter, sparkle and flamboyant frills and flounces for evening wear. One part Marilyn Monroe, one part Grace Kelly, with a whole lot of Debbie Harry attitude thrown in for good measure, Sienna is a modern day icon you simply can’t take your eyes from.
Do you have a favourite Sienna outfit from Cannes?
One which split opinions
I featured this dress on my little black dress round-up from Cannes, and it wasn’t that popular, many saying it was not flattering. I think Sienna can get away with this due to her small bust – on anyone else it would look trashy, but on Sienna, it is chic and elegant.
And one I didn’t like
I love the colour, the tiers, the romantic fabric, but that neckline – is it quaker inspired? It’s a little bit Puritan, a little bit 70s nightie, and a rare misfire in my opinion. Did you like it?

Love this post, can tell that you put some time and effort into it! I didn’t like that dress either, the collar/neckline was just a very bold colour for a delicate dress. Wasn’t a fan

Only the one or two dresses I’m not to keen on and I love her hair when it is styled up. I’m not a fan of ‘that’ dress but think it would of been improved the top two ruffles on the shoulder area were not there. But what do I know 😉

I love the way you wrote this critique. Could be taken from the pages of a fashion mag! I really don’t like Sienna Miller, though, I’m afraid. I’ve never liked her look, never much rated her acting and I did prefer (it’s a relative term) the longer hair. Ooh, that’s sounds awful and rude. I don’t mean to be negative but I do want to be honest. Nothing to do with your post, BTW, which I think excellent! Tx
