Summer Looks From Tamsy

As a women of a certain age (40+), I am always looking for new places to shop for clothes that suit me. Yes, I appreciate that these days anything goes, by, quite frankly, I don’t want to dress like a teenager, I want clothes that both fit and flatter me, and don’t leave me looking like mutton dressed as lamb. With many physical stores like Debenhams, Oasis, Warehouse and Cath Kidston disappearing, I have started to look more and more at online stores, and, in doing that I have discovered the fabulous Tamsy.

Their clothes are grown up, elegant, stylish and well made, and come in a great range of sizes that also include plus size which is designed to go up to a size 26. Here are a couple of my fave pieces from the Summer 2022 range, and how I have been wearing them.

Floral Printed Long Skirt With Ruffle

I love an easy to wear maxi skirt, and this one is a beaut, with an elasticated waistband and a cute ruffle detail around the hemline. This looks fabulous teamed with white, red, or more blue, and would work just as well in Autumn worn with a polo neck jumper, making it a fantastic transitional piece. Wear it with a glam top for an evening look as I am wearing it (top from Coast), or throw it over your swimsuit to take you from the beach to the bar on your holidays. It is a lovely cotton print, but is not see through, so very wearable.

I am wearing size 16-18 in this skirt and it is a really comfortable fit, I am 5ft 7 and this is just above me ankle when wearing flat shoes, so if you added a heel or wedge you could raise it if you are on the shorter side. The print is gorgeous, very subtle and pretty.

Sleeveless Maxi Dress

This is a one sized maxi dress that comes in blue and black (the coral is currently a sell out). It is a cool, thin cotton and this makes it perfect for holidays and sightseeing. I think it is designed to be worn loose and flowy, but as I have a bigger bust it is slightly more fitted on me, although I still think it works really well, and the colour is amazing.

I added a pair of animal print sandals (they’re a neutral, right?) and a pretty Accessorize straw shopper to complete this outfit, along with a vintage nautical brooch.
