After a lovely dry Summer, and a fairly mild Autumn, it is safe to say that the rain has made an unwelcome appearance, making the school run a rather wet and uncomfortable  experience. I live in a semi-rural area, where drains are prone to overflow, pavements are often covered in deep puddles, and the grassy verges turn to mud very quickly.
