The Jacques Vert Group Coatwalk for MacMillan Cancer Support

Saturday October 4th will see well dressed women donning their best coats and taking part in the 2nd annual ‘Coatwalk’ to raise money for MacMillan Cancer Support. The brainchild of the Jacques Vert group, Coatwalk combines a 3km walk around London’s St James’s Park, with a glamorous fashion show showcasing the Coatwalk collection.

This year, the Coatwalk event is being hosted by Natasha Kaplinsky. The event will start with the walk at 12pm. Following the walk, participants will be treated to afternoon tea refreshments at One Great George Street, a stunning Grade II listed building at the heart of Westminster. The finale of the day is a fabulous fashion show including professional models, musicians, dancers, and some very special guests. There will also be opportunities to browse the new Coatwalk collection, made up of gorgeous coats from the likes of Jacques Vert, Planet, Windsmoor and Petite Precis, up close, and to have some fun in the bespoke photo booth. The afternoon will be one of frothy and glamorous fun, whilst still raising much needed funds for a good cause.

Tickets for the Coatwalk event cost just £27 which will be donated to Macmillan Cancer Support. Spaces are limited for this exclusive day, there are only 200 tickets left! The 2013 event was a huge success, and this is sure to be the same. (For ticket information, click here.)

CiCi PR & Events Press day – Fashion-Mommy mingles with the Celebs!

Last Thursday, the fabulous PR company CiCi PR & Events, which is headed by the wonderful Cristie Herbert, host a successful Press Day and Celebrity Gifting Suite. This was held at Jalouse Members Club, No17 Hanover Square, Mayfair, London, and Fashion-Mommy was lucky enough to be on the guest list.

The event was to showcase a range of impressive, High End, collections that included boudoir delights from the vintage inspired Tallulah Love, swimwear from Nardis Beach and the stunning ‘Call of the Whale’ swimwear collection from Australian label Lisa Blue. MyaBlueBeach presented an aspirational range of kaftans, tunics and beach cover-ups, Waxx showed off their collection of cool and funky unisex underwear, and  Zatchels and Zara Taylor  impressed with their reverence to English Heritage shown in their ranges of leather satchels and vintage inspired jewellery respectively. Every collection was filled with must-haves that would fill any fashionista with lust – and I definitely include myself in that category!

One of the best ways to endorse a brand is to get a fashionable celebrity to be seen out and about wearing it. To this end, many fashionable celebrities were invited to attend the event, and the turn-out was great. Fashion savvy celebs attending the event included BBC’s Natasha Kaplinsky, Kate Walsh from  Chanel 5, Actress Brooke Kinsella MBE, Danielle Brown, Chloe Simms and Lucy Mecklenburgh from ITV1’s The Only Way is Essex, Cheska, Funda, Gabriella  and Millie from E4’s Made in Chelsea, Tina Barret S Club 7 and Faye Sawyer This Morning. Fashion-Mommy was able to have a chat with Chloe and Lucy, who were absolutely lovely and so natural, and were full of  excitement about Joey Essex’s 21st birthday at Sugar Hut the following evening.

The guests, celebrity and otherwise, were really spoilt by CiCi. Gorgeous house cocktails and refreshing natural energy drinks by Firefly tonics were available – much-needed as the weather was so balmy outside. There was a chance to meet and chat with the designer influences behind most brands, whilst receiving a variety of gifts from bikinis to silk knickers and underwear sets, bespoke pieces of jewellery from Zara Taylor and limited edition Made in Britain satchels. There was also the opportunity to relax and enjoy a complimentary hair treat  by Danique Hairdressing, who were sponsored by Label M and Cloud 9. I was over the moon with the pretty goodies I received, especially the brown leather Zatchel Satchel, which was absolutely stunning.

This was a fabulous girlie event filled with a bevy of lovely ladies, a host of amazing brands and hosted in a really special venue. This was a truly successful day. Well done Cristie!

Stay tuned as I will be bringing you in-depth reports about the brands featured at the CiCi press show at in the coming weeks.
