1920s style – The flapper look.
Way back in 2011, when Jamie Hince presented Kate Moss with a beautiful engagement ring, that ring was a replica of the ring that F Scott Fitzgerald presented to the ultimate flapper, and early example of a wild child Zelda Sayre in 1920. Kate Moss is said to be fascinated both Scott and Zelda, and all things 1920s. Her infamous 30th birthday party was entitled ‘The Beautiful and the Damned‘ after one of Scott’s most famous books. Kate has long been a fan of 1920s styled fashions, these suit her boyish frame and she has been loyal to them since her Johnny Depp days, revisiting the look immortalised by the…

Return of the 90s slip dress
When I was a teenager, there was one wardrobe item that was essential for a Saturday night out. I’m talking about the slip dress, that tiny piece of fabric with spaghetti style straps and a look that was distinctly more negligee than frock. I wore a pink short version the first time I met my husband, and used to actually buy vintage nighties to wear as dresses, sometimes grunge style with a t-shirt underneath, other times more glamorous with lots of faux pearls or diamante. Kate Moss was queen of the slip dress, and there was no-one cooler than Kate in the 90s. And although they’ve never really gone away…

Celebrity sandal style with Brantano
The opportunity to wear sandals for every single occasion is definitely one of my favourite things about Summer. There are just so many gorgeous styles out there, and after a Winter, and Spring of being bundled up in thick socks and boots, my feet totally appreciate the feeling of freedom that wearing sandals brings. When it comes to sandals, my feet are firmly planted in the flat camp. I do have a pair of 70s style Clarks wedges which I love with a passion, but, in general, I live in flats – Havaianas, Ipanema and pretty jeweled styles that can be teamed with a dress or jumpsuit for an evening…

The Little black dress makes a triumphant return at Cannes
The Cannes festival continues and I continue to be blown away by the beauty of many of the looks on display. Forget the excessive amounts of flesh that we seem to be bombarded with lately, the likes of Emma Stone, Sienna Miller, Cate Blanchett, Naomi Watts and Lupita Nyong’u have decided to show us what a movie star really looks like, rather than opting for Cher’s Bob Mackie cast-offs. It is both a breathe of fresh air, and a visual treat. Glamour at its best in a beautiful setting. One thing I have noticed is that classic, glamorous black gowns seem to be making a Cannes comeback. Yes, there have…

The Cannes fashion fest has begun
My favourite feast of fashion is finally here, and I am unbelievably excited. Yes, the Cannes film festival has begun, and with the likes of Sienna Miller, Lupita Nyong’o, Natalie Portman, Naomi Watts, and (sighs) Fan Bingbing in attendence, the bar is set for some amazing fashion looks. I love the drama and decadence of Cannes, the gorgeous weather and stunning scenary just seems to lend itself to the most exquisite of photo opps, and the stars always seem to deliver in abundance. Who can forget last years movie star masterclass from Blake Lively, when she appeared in beautiful look after beautiful look. Other stars who have ruled that red…
