The Aegon Classic Ladies Day is on it’s way back to Brum!

It was the most glamorous sporting occasion on the Midlands calender last year, and has proved so successful it is coming back for a second time this June. The Ladies’ Day at the Aegon Classic has been announced as taking place on Thursday 13 June at the Edgbaston Priory Club.
This is only the  second ever Ladies’ Day at the Aegon Classic,  and organisers promise that this year it is coming back  even bigger and better than in 2012. Shopping in Birmingham are partnering up with the Aegon Classic to promote the event, whilst ‘Ladies’ Fighting Breast Cancer’ is the charity partner for the day, with £2 from every full price adult ticket  being donated to the charity. Making this a sporting occasion that is helping to make a difference to people’s lives.

The 2012 event was a truly girlie pamper fest which  featured hair styling, a nail bar, cocktail making, a Harvey Nichols luxury goods stand, bespoke jewellery, hand massages and so much more. Plans for the 2013 are still being finalised but will be confirmed soon – so make sure you watch this space!

What has been confirmed is that the occasion will be a fashion fest, with a best dressed competition, so this is a real excuse to come dressed up to the nines, with hats and high heels most definitely de rigueur for those who want to dress to impress. There will also be other competitions and prizes on the day, making this a day you need to add to those diaries.

All this accompanied by tennis from some of the world’s greatest players. British No 1 Heather Watson has already confirmed that she will play at this years tournament. She says; “I’m really excited to be coming back to the Aegon Classic this year, it’s a really friendly tournament. I always love playing in the UK, especially on the grass and in front of the British fans.  They are so enthusiastic about tennis and I feel so supported when I play at home. My ranking has improved a lot since last year and I’ll be looking to do better than I did in 2012 where I reached the third round. It would be a dream for me to win a title on home soil.”
