It’s safe to say that millions, perhaps billions of people across the world prefer summer over winter. But think about all the sale designer brands, chunky sweaters, gorgeous coats, and colors. Despite what people may think, you can get creative with color and clothes, mix and match, go bright or dark, anything you want! Winter gives you loads of options in which you can still look as stylish as ever.

For the most part, black, gray, brown, plum, etc., are the go-to colors as soon as the first leaf falls, but winter has so much more to offer and some great colors too. And while it seems like an absolute chore, searching through all the color combinations is going to pay off.

Color of the year

Aptly named ultimate gray and illuminating (it’s yellow), these two colors are idyllic. There is nothing quite like a gray Melton coat or a gray sweater paired with a bright yellow scarf, and you are set. Or you can swap it out for a yellow trench coat, gray trousers, and a crisp white shirt – such a classic look.

Tomato cream

While the name sounds like the next popular pasta dish, by now, you’ve seen celebrities strutting their stuff in tomato cream-colored clothing. This color takes you back to the groovy 70s. Think tomato cream flower dresses or turtlenecks paired with a beautiful coat, and you are set for winter.

Coconut cream

A fashion faux pas is to wear white during winter. Well, thank our lucky stars, the rules have changed! Coconut cream is a creamy white color and comes in a range of different clothing items.

Perfectly pale

You won’t look like a white sheet in perfectly pale. This color scheme can be dressed up or down and packs quite a mean punch. A popular color used for dresses, you can easily style a look you’d be able to wear to Christmas dinner with your parents and quickly switch it up with a biker jacket for drinks with friends thereafter.

Soybean

How strange yet cool is it that a popular color scheme for 2021/22 is named after a food item? Well, the soybean color stems from beige and has been seen on the runway used by designers like Valentino. This simply means you just have to add this shade to your wardrobe – get shopping!

Adobe

An odd but interesting name for a color scheme, but it works. Adobe (not Photoshop) is a deep brown color that makes any person look like royalty. Some of the clothing items designed in Adobe include jumpsuits, sweaters, cardigans, leather pants, ball gowns, and more. If you want to look like a million bucks this winter, get yourself an Adobe-colored coat!

Root beer

Remember not to look like a root beer float when you are pairing this color with some of your other clothing items. A deep, rich brown, you immediately feel warm when just looking at this color. Some styles include two-piece corduroy suits (a winner for winter), turtleneck dresses, and fashionable blouses.

Winery

A nice mix between cherry red, maroon, and pink, winery is a go-to for any fashionista who is looking to add a pop of color to their already fashionable wardrobe. Tartan jackets, matched with a bright pink headband, and pink jumper and your winter look and colors are set. And for the night on the town, velour dresses in winery are the answer.

Red alert

Red is that power color that most people go crazy for. Whether it’s admiring someone dressed in a beautiful red gown or you are the one flexing in a drop-dead gorgeous red outfit. For 2021/22, mix up your accessories with some red alert bags, scarfs, jewelry, leather gloves, and belts. Or keep it spicy and rock a full red alert outfit from head to toe; go on, we know you want to!

Daylily

Winter can be gloomy, with dark clouds, tons of rain, wind, and the worst one, snow! Sometimes it’s difficult to find joy during the colder months, but you can certainly dress in brighter colors to bring you some happiness. One of those colors is daylily. A bright orange-infused yellow guaranteed to cheer you up.

First blush

A slight touch of pink, and you’ve got your first blush color scheme ready. First blush makes one think about a milkshake, it’s cute, makes you look good, and you’ll find a range of clothing items, all of which work for every body shape and size. And while it might be cold, you sure can rock a first blush t-shirt this holiday!

Fuchsia fedora

Who has even heard about fuchsia fedora? It sounds like a weirdly shaped hat, but it’s a type of cerise pink that’s been seen across the runways. Think fancy evening dresses guaranteed to impress your date (not that it must). Or pair a gorgeous pair of fuschia fedora stilettos with a beautiful dress, and you’re set for your workplace Christmas party.

Ibiza blue

Just because you are wearing blue does not mean you need to feel blue. Ibiza blue is a hue made for winter. It’s sharp, will make sure you stand out in a crowd, and best of all, it works for everyone. Some of the top clothing items include long coats, mid-length jackets, thigh-high boots, and leather gilets.

Spring Lake

Now for a color scheme, we might recognize it easier. Spring lake looks almost denim-like and can be paired with a range of other colors.

Honorable mentions:

While there are so many colors available this winter, look out for these too: clear skye, lilac, honeycomb, oak, orchid flower, olive branch, green bee, leprechaun, jade, lazuli, rhodonite, after midnight, and Mykonos Greek blue.
