The Perfect White Blouse From Cotton Traders
The perfect white shirt has always been considered a key part of a capsule wardrobe, that wear for all occasions essential that you really need in your life. But I would argue that a great alternative to this is the perfect white blouse, which may have a more feminine shape, have some form of embellishment or adornment, and may have a more flattering fit, particularly if, like me, a larger bust makes shirts pucker.
Cotton Traders have a great white blouse that is perfect with Spring in mind. The Lace Trim Blouse (£32) is a really pretty piece. It has long, cuffed sleeves, is collarless and has a gorgeous lace trim detail. It is a cotton/viscose mix fabric which has a woven detail running through it that makes it very tactile to the touch and adds an additional detail to the look.
The style has a slightly boho look to it due to the two lines of lace trim that adorn the front of it, and the lack of a collar also give it a more bohemian feel. The length sits just below the waist band, which means you can easily wear this tucked out for a smarter look, or loose over jeans or trousers for a more casual look. The blouse can be worn with the sleeves cuffed, or the cuff buttons could be opened and sleeves rolled up for a casual look.
This shirt is true to size, but, if like me you have a larger bust and want to avoid the puckering effect, you may want to size up as I did. I love this in crisp, classic white, but it also comes in floral printed versions in green and blue which have a gorgeous pastel, Summer feel.
I teamed this lovely blouse with a pair of coated trousers and black ankle boots for a classic monochrome look. The v style neckline lends itself perfectly to pretty necklaces, so I added some silver chains, including my current favourite ‘sparkle’ chain. In Summer, I would wear this blouse with a pair of cut off jeans and glittery toe post sandals, making this a really versatile wardrobe piece.
