Reviewed: A Dress With Pockets From Cotton Traders

As we (finally) reach the end of January, after what feels like 700 days, we can now start to look towards Spring and brighter, warmer days. For fashion this means looking at transitional pieces that can be worn now, and then also worn as the days become longer and brighter. Cotton Traders are currently launching their new season lines and have, once again, got it spot on when it comes to pretty, wearable and practical pieces to start wearing now and beyond.

The Jersey Print Knee Length Swing Dress, which comes in two different prints, one floral, and one with stripes, is just the easiest, most comfortable dress to wear. For a start, it is the Holy Grail of dresses, one that has pockets. Now, I have no idea why I love a dress with pockets so much, I just do, and I know I am not alone. Maybe it is due to that most comfortable of stances, the hands in the pockets slouch that I have very prone to be standing in, but whatever the reason, a dress with pockets always calls to me. Add in the fact that this is a stretchy jersey fabric that has no fussy zip or button fastenings, and you have me hooked. This is the dress equivalent of lounge wear, something you can easily wear all day and be comfortable in, but it also looks so pretty too!

Cotton Traders are always a great brand to go to when you want clothes that you can wear every day that could take you to a whole host of occasions. This dress is a brilliant weekend dress, the swing shape is flattering for a range of body shapes, and the dress could easily be dressed up or down. I wore it with black flat boots, accessorised with a faux leather biker jacket for a shopping trip, but add a court shoe and a blazer and this would look perfect for more formal wear. You could also dress it down further by adding a pair of white trainers and a  denim jacket, something I’m going to be doing in Spring.

The gorgeous range of colours that make up the print mean this dress can be teamed with lots of colours, for instance the tiny pink flowers could make this fabulous if teamed with a pink fluffy cardigan, perfect layering for a cold day. Or you could wear this dress layered over a pink polo neck for a variation on the layered look.
