Cosy Knitwear From Cotton Traders

In case you were in any doubt, a rather chilly bonfire weekend has shown that we are now definitely in jumper season. The good news is that, this Autumn, there are some gorgeous knitwear pieces around, especially if you take a look at the Autumn/Winter range from Cotton Traders. They cover everything, from the casual but gorgeous every day basics, to the stylish pieces especially curated by The One Show presenter Alex Scott. I have been choosing my favourite pieces from Cotton Traders current collection, and think you will also love my choices.

The Essential Cotton Crew Neck Jumper

Every wardrobe needs an essential jumper, one that you can just reach for, add a pair of jeans and boots, and you will be ready to go. Cotton Traders this year have created the ultimate Essential Cotton Crew Neck Jumper, which comes in a wide range of colours, and also in a stripe design.

I went for this jumper in a very Barbie girl, sugar pink colourway, and just love how versatile it is. The model shows that this can be worn layered over a denim shirt, which will certainly be great on a colder day. I wore it unlayered on a slightly warmer day, and loved the way it looked with a classic blue denim.

A couple of things about this jumper. It is the perfect, non itchy jumper, a point which is so important to me, as those scratchy knits so frustrate me, but this is a pure cotton knit so you escape any sort of irritation. It has a lovely cuffed design, with cuffed hemline, sleeves and neckline, which just gives this a smarter, finished look. I sized up in this as I wanted it to be slightly longer, and would say it is a more snug design, so if you are between sizes, I would size up.

Rib Knit V-Neck Cardigan

The Rib Knit V-Neck Cardigan is part of the collection curated by TV presenter Alex Jones and it is just fabulous. This is a chunky style knit that looks great however you wear it – with jeans, with a skirt, or worn over a dress ( a tea dress would look just gorgeous). The cardigan comes in two colours – green, which I chose, and lilac, as worn by Alex, and each colour is a beautiful, deep shade.

This cardigan has some lovely design features, with big statement buttons, and a slightly balloon style sleeve, with cuffed detailing. Because it is v neck, it can be worn as I have worn it, as a jumper, wearing nothing underneath, or it can be worn open over a camisole or t-shirt, or, on colder days, over a thin knit or polo neck jumper.

Pull-On Stretch Cord Midi Skirt

Another piece curated by Alex Jones is the Pull-On Stretch Cord Midi Skirt that I am wearing with the cardigan. This is a real hero piece, in this season’s fave fabric, soft  stretch cord (which is so soft it almost feels like velvet). This skirt is fabulous because it has button detailing down the front, giving the impression of being a button thru design, but it is actually a pull on skirt, with a lovely, expandable waist – perfect for those bloated, fat days we get at that time of the month.

I opted for the Mocha colour (this also comes in navy) and think it will be a great match for so many neutral shades, as well as being able to handle the bright green of my cardigan.
