V festival – a sea of dresses

Maybe it’s because the weather has been ‘too darn hot’ in the inimitable words of Ann Miller, but amidst the usual parade of denim and hotpants, there were a lot of very pretty dresses on display at the V festival this last weekend. There were maxi dresses, midi dresses, gorgeous vintage print tea dresses and even some candy stripes courtesy of Sophie Ellie Bexter.

This was a true taste of summer, and the style that I love most – feminine, girly, but grunged up a little with some boots and shaggy hair. Top glamour marks must go to Billie Piper, who looked glorious in her Ossie Clark style maxi – which she seemed to keep pristine. Maybe it’s a good job V is known as the clean festival!

Festival Style

I love Kelly Brooks citrus coloured dress with the lovely 1950s silhouette. A perfect fit for that fab figure and the addition of shoe boots is a winning touch.

The fabulous Emma Bunton combines brightly coloured animal print with a classic tan Mulberry and boots to create a perfect festival look. I love her addition of a denim shirt rather than a jacket for a casual touch.

How gorgeous is Sophie Ellis Bexter here? The primary striped dress cinched in with a black belt and those oh so cool shades make her look like a Riviera beauty from the early 1960s. Loving the retro hair too.

This dress is just stunning. I wasn’t sure who the designer was, although the print is very Clements Ribeiro, but then I discovered tht this dress was from Issa. It has a feel of Ossie Clark and Celia Birtwell and I just adore it. Billie has a very ecletic personal style that I often admire – and this dress was a bold and brave choice for a music festival, but bravo to Billie for providing one of the looks of the summer.

The real star of last years X Factor (sorry Little Mix – was never that impressed…), Mischa B has started to impress with some great style choices. This dress is great, the vest top makes it practical,  whilst the animal print skirt is both a bit of fun and a little bit of glamour. Gold Star to Mischa.

The One Show’s Alex Jones shows that florals are the perfect print for festivals, tying in perfectly with all that grass! This dress is very similar to the styles from Inlovewithfashion – a flirty mini dress at the front, with a longer train at the back. Also have to say I really like Alex’s sandals too.
