Wallis 1923 Dress Collection – The Little Cream dress
Each season, Wallis dig into their rich archive to come up with the 1923 collection. This is a collection that re-images and re-masters old designs in order to bring something to the fore that has a vintage feel whilst being totally new.
This season, the 1923 collection returns with a tribute to the Little Cream Dress. This is a beautiful range of dresses that feature beading and embellishment to create dresses that bow to quite a few different eras. There are Art Deco style curved rainbows that echo The Great Gatsby trend, albeit showing far more leg than even that racy era would allow. The Cream sequin shift dress is pure 1960s in style and shape, whilst the Lattice Shoulder dress is a throwback to the 1980s and needs to be teamed with bare legs and stiletto heels for a look straight out of ‘The Business’.
But if cream is not your thing, you will probably fall in love with the silver sequin dress. Halston inspired, with all the detail at the back – a draped back and bow to catch the eye. This is a dream of a dress that would also be fabulous come festival season – add some leggings and wellies for that Kate Moss disheveled glamorous look.
